Fidipaldi to race next week in 44

I know we've all heard stories about why provisionals were put in in the first place but my personal opinion is that none of the boys wanted to come west to Riverside to have the locals beat up on em in qualifying.

Lots of guys in my hometown had cars that were ready to show em all how including Dan Gurney who got so tired of whoopin em he finally quit bothering.
 
I agree to a point. I like NASCAR and think there are some very good drivers in the series. But if the fans weren't mostly total idiots the sport would gain some acceptance.
 
Yeah I sure do wish NASCAR could get some acceptance. I fthat ever happened they might mostly sell out a few races and draw like 150,000 folks to the racetracks and have mebbe another 5 or 6 million folks watching it on TV.:(
