Fire Sale soon @ Roush Fenway Racing

But Team Penske has proven its not the engines.
Although Penske has made the win column a few times this year, they are still lacking in the engine department. ( according to drivers) Penske has to bring those engines in house.
I don't think Ford should interfere to much, the teams have to spend the money to buy wins.

With Ford going to SHR, I have a feeling most all of their money will be spent on SHR and Penske with very little left over to support RFR.
Maybe Rousch should consider a switch to Toyota. (of course be might hit by a lightning bolt).

I think Ford will want all of its teams to do well . They are getting their car count up to compete with GM and Toyota , not to play favorites .

Look at the blue oval in right field, Ford is also a Fenway sponsor.

Toyota is doing more with less, but it is pretty smart they keep their numbers down to pay attention to who really matters (JGR and FRR). I've always thought it was a pretty smart move on their part to slowly build and gather more possible customers when they see fit.

We know Jack sold 50% of his racing organization but what percentage of RCR did Richard sell?
I think he sold 50% as well but still controls the company and runs everything.....I could be wrong though

I never heard any Ford driver complain about the engines this year. In fact the only time I heard them mentioned was in saying how great they were. I heard a lot of time they said they just need more speed.. but thats not necessarily in the engines. There are a lot of ways to make more speed without changing the engine at all.

where and when did the drivers say anything about the engines lacking power?

Roush-Yates power is always strong, it is not an issue of horsepower in the Ford camp.

I have a strong suspicion that the smaller 2017 restrictor plate was aimed squarely at Penske and Yates dominant plate engines

I've thought about a Roush switch to Toyota as well but I just dont see Jack leaving Ford. Think it would be good for both Roush and Toyota though.

I agree with you wholeheartedly........ for years on end I had been a staunch supporter of Roush.. every since he started a team in '88........ He had been diehard FoMoCo all his life.... I loved it... he came in and fought an uphill battle against all the ''Good Ole Boy'' team owners.. and he done real good... like you said.... was a powerhouse posed to win each and every weekend.... for several years it made me proud to back Jack and his teams...... but.... you are right.... it is humiliating to see how that organization has plummeted to ''also rans''...... no chance in hell for them to even win a race much less compete for a Championship..... Being a FoMoCo fan.... (or at least used to be all my life.. now it really doesn't matter that much to me anymore with the advent of the COT cars and common templates) I am just so happy that Penske came over to carry the load that Jack couldn't bear.. without Penske.... FoMoCo might have as well gone the same road as Dodge..... just packed up their suitcase and gone home...... I am hoping with SHR coming into the fold next year it will strenghten Ford's stable as I just don't see Roush being able to sustain much longer.... and I hate that for Doug Yates.... I hope that doesn't affect him... I thought the world of Robert...... He started with Holman- Moody.... and worked his ass off to gain what he did..... those early years in the 90's with Roush, Yates, Jr. Johnson , the Elliotts..... in the mid 90's ...... T- Birds ...... still showroom rear drive cars competing against showroom front drive cars converted.... (like all are now)..... I just took great pride.....

R.I.P.

Roush Racing.........:(
jack is now be undone to what he bought to nascar big money, with five car team and fake owner's. for what reason, no more big money.

I have two questions about Ford this year , and neither involve Roush . One , can Brad regain his speed this year ?Or has Joey has become the lead driver ?Two , can the Harvick team make the switch to Ford and maintain their ranking ?

I hope Kevin does what toney did and gets back in a Chevy. ford must have made a deal they couldn't refuse. I hope they never win again with the blue oval. I guess ford is trying to replace the devil Jack Roush.

So how is the Roush the devil? I think the Harvick staying with chevy wish went out the window when he renewed his contract with SHR.

Harvick will be 41 next week, so in all likelihood he will end his career with the blue oval. Some might hold out hope he'll jump to the 5 in 2018, but I think that would be a downgrade from his current ride.

Plus I really dont see rick passing on guys like lsrson/byron/bowman for that car first too...heres a curveball isnt BKs contract up too nothing in this sport suprises me anymore just sayin

I listened to Brad in an interview and he said the Toyota/s have something the others are missing and the Ford engines are 3rd in testing. I assume
he meant NASCAR's testing. If you remember the last time engines were re done, Ford was the last to overhaul and they went in the direction of
better cooling. Jack was a carb specialist and did the final adjustments on all cars himself. That may be the reason they can stretch the mileage.

I think Penske switched from Dodge to Ford with no apparent problems - they were competitive.

Back in the day, NASCAR tried to even things up by messin’ with the spoiler heights between manufacturers.

Fords win, the GM guys whined. NASCAR’s change things. GM wins, the Ford guys whined.

“Fans” of the Ford guys would believe the Ford drivers ‘n say the GM drivers were lyin’. Same thing the other way.

Yeah, for all the complaining about 'spec cars' (and I do some of it myself), I don't miss the days when NASCAR was issuing spoiler height changes every couple of weeks.

Yes they did but they don't have the advantage they had running their own in house engines.
I think they should still use Roush/Yates engines but do their own setups and tuneups.

I'd have given 'em fifty five each 'n sold 'em to Spencer for four hundred...................

I don't think Penske could do anything better than Roush-Yates already does. They're known as pretty much the best in the business for a reason.
Penske's Dodge engines were the most reliable in the business. They went like 2 years without an engine failure.

Its obviously alot to do with only running two cars compared to around a dozen per race....152 races took them 2 years and what it would take RY in 15 races.

IMO TRD wants eight cars ultimately. They have six in 2017. The next move will be very interesting. IMO JGR will have to sign off on whatever they want to do. Originally, TRD wanted JGR to be the builder (think Hendrick to Chevy). When reliability issues struck the relationship took a different direction. So, we have TRD as the builder, and JGR as the parent team. Does this leave room for another big player, or does Barney eventually go to four teams? TRD is very conservative in terms of expansion because they do not want to go back to the reliability issues of the past.

Meaning 8 teams using TRD engines right ?
