Okay but as they stand right now the 17 is already ahead , and the 88 is only 7 points behind .However the 88 is in 8th, if he moves up to first , he should pass the 48 in points. Shouldn't he? Been looking at the points as they stand on Nascar.com

Dale is currently 7 points behind the old used up past champion. JJ is in 36th and JR is 8th. If the planets align JR could end up ahead of Jeff and the old used up past champion.
