It's not a matter of who's driver benefits. They rob the audience of a good show when they take away half of the final 20 laps. When really they could have red flagged it AS A PRECAUTION, and we could have watched a 10-12 lap dash..

I'm not taking anything away from Austin at all, guys.

I just don't believe that the cleanup took THAT long. I wanted to see more racing, less caution laps.

Not a lot of celebration in victory lane...

But he didn't.

Austin didn't deserve to win the championship but it is also not his fault exactly. NASCAR did a very obvious thing today and that was helped that 3 team. Is there any doubt of that?

Whether this was Gordon, Jonhson or anyone, I would feel the same way.
 
So Dillon joins Biffle as the only drivers to win both the CWTS and NNS championships?
 
Kez came to the front in two laps..what, somehow if there were more laps Kez would have gotten slower and Sam faster? Larson somehow on old tires passes Kez? Yeah the caution sucked, they missed the call, but I don't think the outcome would have changed for the better for Larson, in fact it probably would have been Logano passing Larson for second, if they had more laps.

Honestly nothing was wrong here, plus no way to tell if he had not won it even if they went back sooner to racing.
 
No wonder NASCAR can't get anyone in the stands. What a ridiculous finish, just give the stupid championship to Childress and move on to tomorrow. Who was the idiot who couldn't figure out a red flag was needed? Must have been a Childress!!

I don't blame Austin Dillon TBH. He played by the rules handed down by NASCAR and he won.

I blame NASCAR for making the ****** rules.

Can you give me any proof that more laps would have gotten Sam the championship? I can't say Sam wouldn't have got it, but you can't say he would have. He earned it rather you like it or not.
 
yep......even austin 's embarassed w/ that bs end a' race.
nascar was determined ta get #3 that championship.

Won't know since they didn't run any laps to see. One thing for sure Dillon didn't pass anyone all race long, and was fading with only five green laps. Bs all the way, make em race

I dont care if 15 laps wouldn't have been enough. Its the fact NASCAR went to great lenghts to let laps run out.

Championship not earned and I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Well we each have our own opinion, I'll respect yours but also remember if Gordon ever wins with something like this and hope you'll react the same, I would even if I'm not a fan of Jeff I'll say he earned it, if Sam did better in other races he'd have it.
 
The unknown is the reason why you run the ****** laps. The have the red flag - use it. I personally don't care who won bewteen Hornish & Dillon but I feel cheated out of some potentially awsome racing.
 
If Sam had led the most laps and won the race it would be different. The 12 team failed to do so and it was their only shot.
Congrats to Dillon, Childress and the whole team.

I don't think the red flag would have changed things much other than a better race ending.
