Road courses and short tracks.
Agreed, but I do wish he'd keep it out of the booth; or at least tone it down.... I'll take Gordon's word on driver talent long before anyone here.

Yes, this, at least tone it down a bit.Agreed, but I do with he'd keep it out of the booth; or at least tone it down.
I did not know this, other than the 'Nationwide Dale Jr. Report' and similar segments that are clearly identified.... Also certain sponsors pay to have their cars and in-car camerals shown more. ...

I've been on NASCAR forums close to 20 years now there are threads like this several times every season. The reality is that race tracks are big and things will be missed. Also certain sponsors pay to have their cars and in-car camerals shown more. Most all of us probably think we could do a better job than NASCAR does but none of us have ever stepped foot in production facility.
My unsolicited advice is the we just sit back and enjoy what we have rather than worrying about things over which we have no control. It's not easy and no one is perfect. However, since JG retired I have been able to take a step back and really enjoy the races. I no longer track practices, quals, speeds and read the articles. I just tune in right before the green flag and enjoy the race. Had I known how much more enjoyable NASCAR is for me at this level of engagement I'd have done it this way much sooner.
In normal conversation, sure. I expect impartiality from someone getting paid to cover a sporting event at the national level. This isn't the Eastern Vermont University Broadcast Network, Home of the Fightin' Biases.... I think it is OK to voice support for things you like and displeasure for things you don't.

Ah. My misunderstanding. We're cool.Yeah, I just meant people on this forum should feel at ease being positive or negative. In the booth the announcers need to be impartial.
Interesting. I must not have noticed. I see the ones on the car, strategically positioned in camera range. There is always a logo. Ford pays often.
I'd listen to Allen Bestwick call the check-out lines at Kroger or the ride queues at Disney.
It seems like I'm in the minority, I can't stand Bestwick and his yuckin' it up 1960s radio announcer voice. "Oh boy what a twist of plot :insert phony laughter: but we digress." He always made me cringe or watch on mute.
A few things have driven me nuts.
The on board cameras. For some reason, when there's a battle for the lead, we don't actually see it because we're watching from an in car, roof or bumper camera.
Randomly cutting away. They show a battle for the lead, then randomly show you the 12th place car for no reason, then go back to the battle for the lead. Or when there's a wreck happening, they randomly cut away then go back.
Jeff Gordon. I get it, you think Chase Elliott is the second coming and root for him because he's in your old car. But it gets tiring hear him blame everyone else for Chase's mistakes. And then criticizing Larson yesterday when Truex was acting like a bit of a diva. sh!t's getting old.
Fox has always had their favorites and it's driven me insane for years. There was one year where Kyle Busch got more airtime than any other driver even though most of the races had been won by Kevin Harvick or Jimmie Johnson at that point in the season. And their coverage of Kyle Busch was always flattery.
I'm pretty sure this thread will be renamed NBC in a few weeks.
These are commercials disguised as racing information.[/QUOTE]FOX has been consistently terrible at capturing battles for position on track, and missing wrecks entirely. I'm sick of on boards, in car cameras of a driver's helmet, and still shots of a incident happening a 1/4 mile away in the background.
For me, the poor FOX coverage this year is in the producer/director chair. I can't count the number of times the guys in the booth are talking about something on the track, whether it's a pass, close call or wreck, and they don't cut the shot until it's too late. It's like the director doesn't have a feel for racing and runs the broadcast by a script regardless of action on the track. Same with passes for the lead, countless times we see replays after a commercial break. Who could anticipate that when the second place car was picking up a tenth a lap that he'd make the pass during a scheduled break. Ugh.

Damn….
Practice. Just heard from one of the Fox talkin’ heads Almirola lost half a vertebrae in the Kansas wreck.
Wonder where the half he lost went.
I know Ralph Shaheen was one of them.Whoever the guys callin' the ARCA race are can call the NASCAR stuff for the next couple events if they want.
Be a fresh change.
