Fox sports 1 ratings are behind SPEED

Damn Canada lol.

I'm not even sure how it all works and there was so much back and forth when it was being discussed here that I didn't bother to read it all. Maybe I'll go see what I can find out:)

I looked at my channel guide the other day and saw Fox Sports 2, but when I went to it, it told me I had to upgrade. No FS2 for me with basic Charter.

Oh well, I don't watch lower racing series much anyway.

ARCA's furious over being moved to Fox Sports 2. ARCA is getting ready to ink a deal with NBCSN (interestingly, NBCSN paying ARCA for television rights) - I imagine that might end up being expanded now.

that's great news Andy. Automobile Racing Club of America, hope they show every race. Now if they can get world of outlaws, that will work for me. And for comic relief..and drama, get a couple of cameras over to Bowman Grey. :punkrocke

Also, the Iowa race that was dropkicked to Fox Sports 2 will be reaired on Fox Sports 1 on Sunday morning at 9am. This change was apparently just made yesterday afternoon. Sounds like Gundrum's rageathon has had a positive impact. ;)

eh go ahead..rub it in we can take it.

If Speed doesn't air ARCA races, I doubt they'll be shown in Canada as stations such as ESPN, Fox Sports 1 and NBCSN are not permitted to be broadcast here. All of their major content is simulcast through TSN and to a lesser extent, Sportsnet. I seriously doubt that any of them would pass over spelling bees and dog shows for ARCA racing LOL. Hopefully I'm wrong.

So, I doubt I'll be "rubbing it in" for much longer if the NBCSN ARCA deal becomes a reality but it seems as though it may be a good move for ARCA.

Great time slot eh?. I have 7A.M. to 9 Sunday morning

Is it just me or has fox1 screwed up race hub. It is a feel good Nascar commercial without any news. Is anybody even able to watch it, time slot is all over the place, and it isn't even on every day.

If ARCA knows what is good for them they will ditch FS1. Luckily it seems they are gonna.

The pukes at fox are showing the Arca race the same time as the Cup race..And of course it is on FS2 which sucks..If that isn't screwing race fans enough, they put the after show for cup, Nascar Victory lane on FS2.

I've been watching NFL on FOX and the only Fox Sports programming they've advertised is Ultimate Fighter on FS1. They aren't even advertising what football games are on FOX next week. It's all MMA.

FS1 is awesome right now but I have a feeling it's going to turn in to an all MMA network here within a year.

MMA is not as popular as people seem to think it is.

Kinda like the Yogi Berra line when, back in the day, he was asked if he still goes to a particular night club after a game.

"Nah, it too crowded. Nobody goes there anymore."

UFC, and mma in general, has plateaued in recent years, after exploding in popularity during the 2000s.
UFC is, for now, trying to consolidate their gains and not retrench too much.
PPV buys are down from their peak. Viewership is down.
The new season of TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) with Ronda Rousey just debuted to it's lowest ratings ever.
UFC was ultra-hot in Brazil just 1-2 years ago. Talk was about holding events in soccer stadium with 100k fans.
Last week's event in Brazil had only 5k fans show up. At the last moment, UFC tried to move the event from the huge arena that held 20k+ people to a smaller arena. That's how badly they predicted fan interest. Instead UFC had to do the WWE trick of blocking off most of the seats, hanging black drapes, and filming the event with tight camera angles so the TV crowd couldn't see how empty the arena was.

MMA was super huge in Japan in the 90s. Nearly dead today. UFC is desperate to make sure nothing similar happens in US or Brazil, it's two biggest markets.

That sounds like another sport...
Yeah there are a lot of similarities. UFC timed things nicely with their Fox deal. That should bankroll them through any downturn while they invest in growing things internationally.
