Told ya that 5 days ago

And in a positive "public opinion" move they add the #24 & 39 into the chase

Posted on Sunday p.m.

I never imagined NASCAR to do this ish

Glad for Gordon and his fans , it was a just decision. Best wishes.

But on sunday when the green drops, I am back on the Anti Gordon tirades, rants, bs, or something to that effects.

Happy for Jeff Gordon and his fans , hoping Nascar can get this behind them.

I don't agree with this. I think jeff gordon should not get the chase. The other thing is if the deal with front row wasn't made I think joey makes the pass anyway.

From what I understand the 22 was more than a straightaway back with 5 to go.. And from what I saw, when the 22 was getting by, the 38 had to damn near stop in the middle of the corner. Either way, 'intent to manipulate' is still there.

No one, they added a 13th car.
No one, it's gonna be a 13 car chase this season.

Really? *sigh*

You know, I liked it back in the past when they at least TRIED to hide the fact that they sometimes manipulate the races...but....

Look, I'm sorry to Jeff Gordon and his fans, but the dude did not have a good season, and TBH he's not the best driver in Hendrick's stable. He had a chance to make it into the chase with the first 26 races and Richmond only cost him a wildcard berth, not one of the 10 non-WC spots. I was okay with the points deduction of Bowyer and Vickers because that what should've happened due to the events of Richmond, but this...this is just to shut the Gordon Fans up.

I'm not okay with this.

and now what, this'll be anti-gordon material for all eternity I assume?

That might be, but so much happened the other night that it honestly changed what would have been, Had none of it happened then Gordon would have made the chase just barely, now we're at the point where both Joey and Jeff are in.

nascar did the best they could after ignoring these problems for decades. I hope they come up with rational rules and a rational way to enforce them.

I'm just glad Jeff didn't have a win this year, because they would end up with the 13th car keeping it's bonus points.

Doesn't matter to us. Cause at this point your opinion is just that an opinion.

Jeff Gordon didn't have a good year. But that doesn't mean he didn't do enough to make the chase. That is why I keep laughing when people say this ****. He didn't win. He had too many DNFs. But there are others with similar results in the chase. And he was in until these idiots blatantly screwed with the finishing ordering thinking us fans were stupid and oblivious.

Too bad for those who get butthurt over this, but if you are mad at anything it should be that Clint Bowyer is still in the Chase. Not that Jeff Gordon was added.

How do we know that Gordon would've made it in? For all we know in the closing laps Gordon would've crashed, or his tire would've blown, or his engine would've gone. There are millions upon millions of variables that determines how a race plays out. To say that "This driver would've made it in, if only this and this and this wouldn't have happened." is a fool's errand.

Sometimes a driver just have **** luck at a race and there's nothing you can do about it.

Well...apparently now you can, just bitch enough on Twitter and have your fans get riled up enough and NASCAR will just wave their wand and "fix" everything.

Well the same can be said for Newman getting in, maybe he would have had a problem and not won or even did good enough to make it so your point still is invalid here, the fact is Gordon was on the WAY to making it and would have LIKELY made it if all the crap that happened didn't happen, yes he could have wrecked or blown a tire but if they went off that for everything no changes would have been made at all.

At least there won't be 10 weeks of Gordon should be in the Chase talk. He's in now, and everyone will see why he didn't make it in the first time around.

It's true that Gordon will likely finish in the bottom half of the Chase. That isn't the point. The point was he earned a spot to have a chance where he could catch lightning in a bottle and make a run until the cheaters showed up.

We DO know that Jeff wouldn't have made it in if his teammate hadn't run into the front stretch wall just as he became the lucky dog........and before he hit his pit box.

Exceptional timing for sure.

Except he didn't "earned" the spot, it was given to him. Let's just be honest about that.

I can't believe NASCAR did this. I'm glad for Jeff and his fans.

Can't wait for the drivers meeting next year at Richmond.

Keep bringing this up. Jimmie Johnson almost trapping his teammate a lap down, AFTER he already made up 2 laps, is pretty terrible evidence for cheating.

Show me the excessive bitching by Gordon or his fans. As far as I know Rick is the only one that said he got robbed, hell maybe I'm missing it but even on this forum I haven't seen a whole lot of 'let the 24 in' whining.. I just assumed that was the cards that where dealt. Per the usual 24 LUCK

Wrong. Jeff Gordon raced his way up to a chase spot.

Don't blame anyone but the cheaters for not allowing us to find out if he actually would have made it or not. He earned his spot UNTIL 7 laps were left and cheaters manipulated the results.

He may have blown a tire, or crashed or tanked. But thanks to Clint Bowyer and his team full of cheaters we never got a chance to see what happened.

Err, no. JJ waited until Jeff was the lucky dog, and was probably told 'jeff is pitting' as his cue to hit the wall. That's why he hit in such an odd place for a 5 time champion. There is ZERO evidence in the video that the tire blew first.

If you consider having your teammate hitting the wall just as you become the lucky dog 'earning it'.

I would suggest to you that he didn't earn it, rather it was given to him based on a whole bunch of behind the scenes political crap. This whole thing reeks of Hendrick and Chevy exerting their influence on NASCAR brass, meanwhile they've being pulling crap like that for years to help Jeff and Jimmie win but everyone seems to forget that.

Except we don't know if he would've made it into the Chase because of what happened, and we never will know because NASCAR doesn't do "do overs". I felt sorry for Jeff, I did, but as my dad used to say, sometimes life just screws you over.
