GORDON"s In

Great move.

Only because we don't have to listen to 'Gordon should be in the chase'. Gordon realistically has no chance, so its just a move to keep everyone calm and move on with life. Prevents anyone else targetting other drivers as well.

Helton just announced that the winner of the truck pole will be in the chase.

Really? I thought he announced that Danica Patrick got into the chase!

Yes, I am now treating The Chase as one big joke because IMHO it has lost all legitimacy with me.

I need to make a Twitter account and campaign for Brad to make the Chase.

I mean, he did win the championship last year, and during the early part of the season he was finishing consistently well. He even led some laps this past Saturday at Richmond, and had all the cheating not gone down, the sky would have been the limit. He could very well have won that race. But the biggest, most important reason he should make the Chase is because I like him and he comes across as a cool dude on TV. Therefore, he deserves it.

Now it's a joke?
nascar's chase erases the actual point standings and resets them to make things... interesting, but now suddenly the chase is a joke. lol

The chase has never been legitimate.

Hey, you're on to something here. Roush team orders meant Brad got the crappy Yates engine at Atlanta.

Just please stop bitching about Jeff Gordon and his team/owners.

There is one person we all should be bitching about. Clint Bowyer and his band of cheaters.

I guess that you missed the in car radio of Bowyer ,Vickers and Gilliland being ordered to do what they did by their car owners .

Absolute joke, just further proves my point that had Kahne spun to get Gordon or Jr in, Nascar wouldn't have done anything. Gordon has no business being in the chase, none. If there was ever one time that Gordon let a team mate lead a lap to get bonus points, then he can't bitch about what the 22 team did.

Nascar should make calls in race, not wait until afterwards and completely jumble stuff up. What exactly did I watch the race for??

Resetting the points and adding/removing drivers to/from the Chase are two totally different things.

Good. Now the bitching about the actions of last week will finally die down.

Jeff had raced his way into the Chase before everything went crazy.

So Bowyer's spin knocked Newman and Jeff out? How, pray tell, did he do that?

No. Bowyers spin allowed Clint to give up two laps and Vickers a lap to let Logano pass. Those two points were the difference between Jeff making the chase and not making the chase.

lol No, but why add Jeff over a point that didn't keep him out, after failing to do so over the 2 points that did?

That's pretty much the main reason I, personally haven't been throwing a bitchfit all week. LOL

I'll still take it!

OK, first off, I think this is a BS deal. They missed the boat here. First, they're not going to get into the "ripple affect" and start changing things around, but then they do just that. That, my friends, is just another notch out of what little credibility NASCAR had going in.

And now, for everyone else, I just gave Andy an aluminum foil hat in another thread. Starting to sound like some of might need one as well.

Anyone else find it ironic its Friday the 13th?

Darrell Waltrip ‏@AllWaltrip 1h
in 2013 on September the 13th a 13th driver was added to the Chase, be easy to remember this day!

What a joke. NASCAR is literally just making up the rules for their playoffs as they go? Can you imagine the NFL adding 2 wildcard teams at the last minute?

Also, I heard there was going to be a 14th spot opened up for this driver:

He still won't get into the top 10, but I get why you're happy.

We'll see. I get why you're pissed.

I honestly wish they never touched the original chase line-up. That should have just been set-in-stone sacred as soon as the Post-Race inspection was over. They could have thrown point penalties in there, big sums of money, etc. Now they've just created a **** ton of hostility in the grand scheme of things. A 13th car? 12 cars was beyond ridiculous.

Still driving for five though. IDGAF

Any chance that someone made the a bold prediction of 13 cars in the chase?

I am glad nascar did the right thing here. Happy For Jeff and his fans. I have never been a Gordon fan but I am going to pull for him now in the chase. So the 22 team and Gilligan just get a slap on the wrist?

They should have been put to the end of the longest line on the next restart but the race was already over.
