Well, at least the weasel admitted it. He intentionally wrecked Ross Chastain. No fines or punishment coming for him…NASCAR has never hit him hard for some reason.

This is why Hamlin's never won a championship, he lets people get in his head too easily.

Perpetuating this feud has only hurt Hamlin. Yeah, he cost Ross a ton of points this race, but cost himself a ton of points too.

You would think that Hambone being one of the oldest drivers in the series would have learned some professionalism by now, but he came off looking like some clown racing for 100 bucks at a short track. The uh duh yeah I wrecked em. What a piece.

What was the penalty Byron got last year when he admitted to wrecking someone on purpose?

Indeed the precedent was set with the suspension of Bubba for a full race. If nascar wants the respect deserving of real sports (and not “wrestling on wheels”) they MUST suspend Hambone for a full race. He has been Teflon all his career for some unknown reason. Glad he told the truth on his podcast; glad he reportedly spoke with Ross and the weasel agreed to stop looking into the “past”, race each other from now going forward.

He still needs to be suspended.

I still cant fathom this dude went on his freshly new podcast and admitted something this dumb. Denny really is an idiot and I hate to say that about someone I have never met but you have to keep that to yourself. I dont dislike Hamliln nor hate him, kind of indifferent. He reminds me of the popular sports star in school that had all the talent in the world along with mommy and daddy's money but had a 5 cent brain, that when he spoke it was usually amusing and it wasnt for the intelligence. I wouldnt hate it if Chastain and Hamlin wrecked each other out of NASCAR, my race day viewing wouldnt be lacking w/o them. I will commend Denny for having a personality though, we say these guys are boring and groan when they toe the company line but when they do something like this we throw up our arms. Guilty as charged as well, but I dont know. He could have played coy with this deal and it would have went away by green flag of Atlanta...... now he might get some disciplinary action. It's going to be hard to sell yourself to a potential new sponsor if you're shopping for one with the rumor of Fed Ex leaving if you're missing races due to dumb stuff you're saying on the podcast as a result of your actions on track.

I don't know about all that. Every incident is different.

I have no love for Denny, but Ross has brought all this on himself. When you don't give a crap who you run over, then eventually somebody is not going to give a crap when they run over you. Denny is certainly no angel, but if you keep poking the same bear, at some point you are going to get bit, and I've NEVER had a problem with that.

The thing with Hamlin is, a score is never "settled" with him because he usually screws himself over in his retaliation attempts. And, the guy Hamlin's in a feud with usually ends up better off down the road.

Ross made it to the Final Four and finished second in points last year. Joey Logano, who Hamlin injured himself trying to wreck, is a two-time champion. Brad Keselowski is a NASCAR Cup Series champion.

Hamlin thinks he's getting in their heads and looking in their mirror and stuff, and these guys usually just don't focus on him.

You seem to be describing poking the gomer and not the bear. I have to agree.

Hamlin is in his own head if that makes sense. He thinks this feud is still happening and Ross has moved on. Ross is going to do like Joey and basically claim he expects to be raced the same way. Wrecking someone because you’re still mad about an incident 3 or 4 weeks ago isn’t in the course of racing. He needs some repercussions to get reminded that it was over last year and he lost.

Notice how Ross never gets pissed off about Hamlin's shenanigans.

I don't want NASCAR to get involved because this is fun, but at some point, they're going to have to. So they might as well sooner or later.

“So we talked, and I think that we are in a better place where I think we’re willing to put the past behind us, and I think that we’re going to judge each other from this point forward, and I think that’s the fairest way to do it.”

It will only matter to Ross when there is something a lot more than 12th place at stake. Yes, Denny is a head case, we all know that, but that doesn't change the fact in my mind that Ross probably still has a couple coming, and I have no problem with Denny doing it, even if he's not very good at it. Who was worse at retaliation than Jeff Gordon, but sometimes he still could get his point across. As bad as he screwed up the deal with Bowyer, Clint never messed with him again.

Hamlin comes off as a child who thinks he's playing "tag, you're it!", and then admits to doing it on purpose. Yikes.

Lol…difference being is that Ross HAS messed with DH, quite a few times. He doesn’t seem to be too bothered with Dennys intimidation….

I thought for sure Ross Chastain was gonna win the championship at Phoenix last year since everybody Denny gets into it with seems to go on to win one (see Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott).

Hamlin is easily the most over-hated driver on here.
That said, the move at Phoenix was unnecessary, I thought the feud against Ross was settled.

This incident is NOT comparable to Wallace/Larson at Vegas at all. They were going 180 mph when Bubba hooked Larson. Then he proceeded to go after Larson and pushed an official.
This one wasn't nearly as bad.
