Harvick accuses Newman of cheating

Now you think I'm narrow-minded huh? Tell me something, Park30fan, am I need of some sort of enlightenment? Go ahead and whine all you want and put everything every dang thing Kevin does on or off the track out of proportion and put your words into his mouth, frankly I dont give a hoot anymore.

This stuff starts whenever one driver wins too much. nothing but sour grapes. Nascar inspectors do a good job of checking these cars out before and after races. let it go.
I laughed my ass off a few years back when they had tiregate over Jeffy winning too much.
no different now.
I haven't heard much about Busch or JR. latley. I guess they quit cheating.

damn ya think it was harvick that won the race all this bashin back and forth

If you look down the topic list you'll see, that Gordon says pretty much the same thing as Kevin. But I guess that's being blown out of proportion also and the guy who put it up is whing about Gordon? Face it. You cheer for a guy who has a tendency to open his mouth more than most drivers on most topics and people are free to talk about his remarks.

Even though they are taken out of context?

So now when people say something that means something else, it can't be interpreted as such? Because the majority arguing with me are Harvick fans, and can't believe their driver would ever say something stupid, I guess I should just stop arguing now because they can't see through their rose colored glasses.
I would just like to ask who died and made you the great interpreter.

How was that taken out of context? You don't actually believe that all that quote meant was he wondering how Newman got better fuel mileage than him? Given that mostly Harvick fans seem to disagree with me and mostly non-harvick fans agree with me, I think it's obvious who is trying make Kevins remarks into something they aren't.

Given that 97Forever , Highboy90 and others agreed with my interpretion, I think you need to reread this thread.

Why would that piss me off? Steve didn't perform, got fired, same with Jeff Green. Has nothing to do with Harvick.

I ment RCR. Fingers are not typing what brain tells them to.

Maybe you need to reread what Harvick said. But this wont get any body anywhere. Tomorrow will be Monday and be working no a new race. So nuff said.

Yes I get it. Harvick fans are right, anyone arguing with them is wrong.
This is my last post on the subject.

This will be my last post on the subject also. Yeah, Jeff Green is the best driver ever, he did a great job in the 30 car and his record was as clean as a polished mirror. I get it, just because Harvick hit him at Richmond means Harvick is the worst driver. Dream on Park30fan

I'm a bigtime Harvick fan, but you dont see me bitchin' and moanin' over this issue. Kevin finished 6th, I'm just happy he knocked off almost another 100 points off Matt's lead. 2nd week in a row that Kevin has done it... so i'm happy!

As far as the Ryan Newman/Fuel issue goes... I'm not accusing Ryan of cheating, because Ryan isn't the one building the motors, and figuring out the information about fuel mileage.... but something does seem kinda fishy about it. I'm just getting damn tired of all these fuel mileage races!! One car can run 60 laps on a tank.. and the other can go 90, just doesn't seem right. but oh well, on to Charlotte!!

BTW, I support everything Kevin does or says, because he is one of the few drivers who actually has the balls to speak what's on his mind.

I’m just pissed off that the 15th-place car wins the race and can go 15 laps farther on fuel than the rest of us. If he can do that with his foot, then he’s a magician, and I’ll kiss his butt if he’s doing it with his foot.”

So, Happy29 and Gollum, would either of you like to explain what you think Harvick meant by this comment. Saying he's a magician if he is doing it with his foot, makes me believe that Harvick feels Newman is going outside of the rules, or at least bending them. Harvick probably just doesnt want to come right out and say the words "Ryan Newman is a cheater," because not only does he not have proof, but it wouldn't be the politically correct thing to say. And, if you are not politically correct, you could alienate your sponsorship. Like Park30fan said, do you really think Harvick said that because he was just upset that Newman was able to conserve his fuel well. If you do, then you are really dense.

Personally I don't think that there is anything wrong with Harvick accusing Newman and his team of cheating, if he truely believes it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My problem is having an argument because you think that any time someone mentions Kevins name, it must be to rip on him, which Park30fan was obviously NOT doing.

So, what exactly was Harvick trying to say? What did his comment mean? :owquitit:

If Harvick wasn't accusing/insinuating that the 12 team was cheating/doing something illegal then I'm not sitting at a keyboard/computer right now. If someone doesn't see this their blind.

Well that's real nice Brand X Guy.

But the FACT remains that no matter what you or I or anybody else thinks Kevin meant, he never used the word "cheating".

Well come on! Do you need a picture drawn? I didn't say he used the word cheat so good try but I can't imagine an intelligent, sane person saying that's not what he meant. If you're so sure that's not what he meant then what did he mean?

You like everyone else are only stating an oinion. You me or nobody else realy knows what Kevin ment.

That is harvick's quote...

Bascially Harvick said that the driver couldn't save that much fuel. The obvious implication being that sicne it couldn't be the driver, it has to be the car.

It could be Harvick's opinion that the car is illegal. It could be Harvick's opinion that the car is legal. Since he didn't state an opinion about the car, just the driver's ability to save fuel, any speculation as to Harvick's opinion of the legality or illegality of the car is pure specualtion.

I know I'd pay to see Harvick kissing Ryan's butt. Ryan has a pretty big one & he also looks like he is a very hairy guy. I'd give away my Bristol tix's for that one!

Paying is one thing. Giving away Bristol. That is a little over kill.

Horse Feathers!! Was he speaking a foreign language or something? You don't need a secret code or anything. Man oh Man I think some people here would agrue what's up or down.

And, it's still pure speculation on our part as to what is going on with the 12, and what Kevin meant.

We can all interpret what happened and what was said afterward in 1000 different ways.

What it boils down to, is that somehow the Penske engineers have figured out something that gives them horsepower and fuel mileage.

Penske has all those very talented people working on his IRL cars to fall back on, also, don't forget. The engines may not be the same, but I would bet my bottom dollar they all talk and share information.

They need to share it with Rusty if thats the case. I bet it's eating Rusty up deep inside.

bow, isn't that the living truth.

Of course, you've also got to factor in the fact that Rusty likes to micro-manage any adjustments made to the car. Personally, I think he does it way too much.

Yea what he said!!!~

If Newman and crew has figured out how to get gas milage and power and not shareing it with Rusty. I think that is prety tacky.

I really dont see how anyone could not think that Harvick was not accusing Newman of cheating...and at the very least, saying something was very very suspicious. The only thing on there that said he wasnt cheating was that "he was doing it with his foot" ....And I'm sure if Newmans team had found such a breakthrough to win races, Rusty would not have any info for it...even tho they are teammates doesnt mean that their gonna share everything they learn....

I dunno. IMO Rusty is too stubborn and old school to take the fuel mileage chance.

It's amazing how the mechanically inclined types can cause so much excitement and controversy when they take the time to think outside of the box.

rusty was talking to a local race car driver that coresponds for a radio sports show and he did say "It gets frustraiting when someone wins on fuel mileage and especially when their your teamate and you try to do the same thing they do and it bites you in the butt, but hey the young kid is making me some money so I guess it works out in the end" He said that when he was testing at kansas.
