He gets 3 pit stops in a row under 13 seconds (12.8, 12.1, 12.3) Saturday night (Atlanta) and he is griping about them on the radio to Rodney Childress, complaining that they are unacceptable. I’m surprised that he gets any loyalty at all from the people who work with him and for him.

He was taking shots at them during a post-race interview. If it was justified is a matter opinion, I suppose.

After the first of the year Harvicks patience is not that high with his crew.....

If they wanted to not get called out, they should get him out first.

There were countless drivers on the track during that race who probably would have given their left cojone to have had the pit stops Harvick had those 3 stops.

Harvick is like a little more mature version of Kyle Busch because he had a baby. When he wasn't a father he was just as immature as Busch.

He's got a decent pit crew. It may not be up to par with some of the other teams but he needs to appreciate when he has.

I thought he was the one pitting on the paved part of pit road? He couldn't get a good jump out of that stall all night.

I understand pushing the crew to go a little faster when you're up against those kind of odds, but throwing them under the bus is uncalled for. They were turning out good stops all night.

he talked more crap about his own crew than he need Menards, and i figured he would go off on the 27 car.

All that really matters to me is that I got to watch old Harv throw yet another race in the crapper.

His pit crew is always pretty slow compared to the other top teams. When the #11 guys are knocking out 11 second stops, a mid 13 isn't gonna cut it.

A football team puts together three consecutive scoring drives and then, on the "two minute offense" at the end of the game, the wide receivers drop perfectly thrown passes and the team loses the game. Now, imagine this happening to your favorite football team every single week.

That's Harvick's season. Harvick has proven to be a clutch driver who can win races if he's in the position to do so. But, he now has a pit crew that, when the race is on the line, buckles under the pressure and takes him out of that position.

Harvick should have picked another pit stall than the 1st one at Atlanta, that 1st pit stall was asphalt white all the others were concrete, Havick should have picked the 2nd pit stall. So it's Harvick that screwed up not his pit crew. As the winner of qualifying he had the choice of pit stall, he picked the wrong one. Guess his pit crew could have put cat litter under the rear tires so he could have had more traction leaving the pit stall.

while i don't agree with him calling them out on the post race interview, i can understand him being irritated. how many times did he come in with the lead, only to have to restart in 2nd when the outside lane completely sucked?

agree that a different pit stall choice might have been the answer, but it was too late for that.

Those other teams are the ones who will beat him in the chase on key pitstops. A decent pit crew doesn't win championships. It gets you a decent finishing position.

I don't see Harvick picking the pit stall, it isn't his decision to make, he drives the car and from his standpoint he did his job, didn't speed, got in the pits good, and put the car in the front. I would be frustrated also, it has been happening all season.

Hamlin's crew was cranking out pit stops in the 11's, a full second faster than Harvick's crew. Being on pit road an extra second will get you beat every time.

I'm just not sure what he thinks he's accomplishing when he throws them under the bus. He went to a new team, what did he expect? He got himself in a better car but perhaps he overlooked the whole team picture when he made his move. He had the flagship team at RCR for years but he's got to accept that his crew is not the best in the garage.

Either way, it wouldn't have mattered how good the crew were at Atlanta. JGR brought the trick air guns, and nobody was going to beat them on pit road. Not even the mighty HMS, but Kasey still found a way to win the race, didn't he?

do what? went to a new team and is supposed to expect it would be worse?, his pit people made a mistake by picking what is the number 1 stall on every track in the series, apparently it isn't at Atlanta, but that hasn't mattered on many tracks this season for Harvick, they have trouble getting tires on or getting them tight. I don't think a faster gun is going to help that much.

My point is that he was "the guy" at RCR, so naturally he got all the best crew guys to pit his car. When he went to SHR, he became just another guy. They had trouble just getting 3 cars up to speed last year, now they go to 4. Where did he think they were going to find all these guys?

I agree, it hasn't mattered because they've botched a bunch of stops too. I'm just saying that perhaps his expectations were unreasonable going into a new team. When Kenseth made the move to JGR, they kept that 20 team largely intact and the organization didn't expand to make him fit. The crew for the 39 team last year weren't even tht good and for what I understand those are the guys that went to the 4 team. I expect Carl Edwards will have the same problem next years...fast cars without a good enough team to keep up with it.

Harvick is a competitor. SHR is leaps ahead of the equipment where he was and wants to make the best of it. Patrick is more of a cheer leader type, (Carrot approach) and Harvick is a more of an "angry dad" (stick) approach. I just hope it works with his team.

The bully has lost plenty of races this year because of reliability issues and driver mistakes, karma most likely

If you think there is a best team, best car, and a puppeteer is up there pulling the strings to make it so, that makes sense. I don't believe that happens at the top team level, no evidence says it is that way, never heard a top driver say it is so. "they took my car away and gave it to so in so". Or a driver saying, "they gave me the scrubs for a pit crew". You can bet they would say something if they even thought it was so. They have pit crew tryouts and pick out the best performers. they replace pit crew people, switch them around, sub in for injured crew, hire and fire all the time throughout the whole series all year long.

If you don't think he is "the guy" at SHR that is funny. Tony isn't stupid he knows where his bread is buttered.
