Harvick At It Again

What kind of friends do you make?

I have witnessed some of my friends doing some really stupid stuff, sometimes I have done stupid stuff, friends dont always have to back you up if you dont deserve to be

IMHO, a friend is there no matter what. There is a difference between tough love and being a friend that gets walked on. Is your suggestion kyle18, that harv is showing his crew tough love?

I still think Kevin will be in the final four. Even with a less than stellar pit crew, he's still running better than most of the guys out there.

No not at all, what ever strategy he is using must not be working, he needs to try something else IMO

If he is the only SHR car in the great 8, final four, or sudden death championship playoff winner take all race, I am expecting an SHR all star crew. With the best position players being utilized for every planned caution.

If you don't think he is "the guy" at SHR that is funny. Tony isn't stupid he knows where his bread is buttered.

Oh please, Tony's been buttering his own bread for years. He doesn't need Harvick to come do it for him.

Harvick is performing the best of all the SHR drivers, no argument there. So why is his pit crew still not getting it done?

Until Tony steps aside, he's still driving the flagship car for that organization. He's half owner for goodness sakes. It's the same thing with crew chiefs (like Fennig switching to Carl's team this year). Owners put their best guys on the best teams. Harvick is SHR's best car, but clearly they did not give him the best team they could have.

still better than the other three...

If you think there is a best team, best car, and a puppeteer is up there pulling the strings to make it so, that makes sense. I don't believe that happens at the top team level, no evidence says it is that way, never heard a top driver say it is so. "they took my car away and gave it to so in so". Or a driver saying, "they gave me the scrubs for a pit crew". You can bet they would say something if they even thought it was so. They have pit crew tryouts and pick out the best performers. they replace pit crew people, switch them around, sub in for injured crew, hire and fire all the time throughout the whole series all year long.

A couple years ago, Denny said that at JGR the Chase drivers can "pull rank" and select which chassis they want to run in the race ie. the newer, better ones.

Also do you remember when Rick Hendrick pulled Jeff's crew from him mid race to go pit JJ's car? There is a heirarchy that exists within the teams. I mean surely you can't tell me you think Kahne gets a better crew than Jimmie or Jeff, do you? Perhaps with the larger organizations its not as noticeable because most of the guys are good. Think back to when SHR only had 2 cars, the 14 team was almost always faster than the 39 team and that's just the way it is. An owner is never going to overtly say "yeah put our best guys on team x" but I do believe they are very calculated in how they put together their teams.

he posted a link to a stupid pit crew challenge SHR did before the season. It has no bearing on anything that has gone on in any races this year.

Ok thanks. Did not click on link.
Although she did have an 11Sec stop.
Is there a site you can go to that logs pit stop times? jayski?

where anywhere do you get that idea except your imagination. Here is an article for your pony the 24. That pit crew coach trains the 5 and the 24, nowhere does he say one teams get an advantage..I don't know how many times I have heard Rick Hendrick say that every thing is equal, same thing in the engine department. You can't keep drivers that way if they think they aren't getting a fair shot.

that shows that the pit crews on Stewart Haas aren't giving one team or the other favoritism..where is any of your proof that they are stacking the deck?

Sure, let me pick one race where Harvick finished better than all other SHR guys. That should do the trick, right? Right?

You stated he was plucked after the spin gate fiasco. Which wasn't true. Spingate was at Richmond. Childers contract was up with MWR after the 2013 season. He had already informed MWR that he wasn't going to return with them and that is when they sat him until his contract ran out. All of that happened before spingate ever did.

hey @StandOnIt , so where were you on this? I haven't heard, you kind of just dropped it. So why did you drop it? What was your argument again?

My imagination? Haha that's quite rich coming from you. Given your wild and crazy imagination, I could understand how sometimes you could get confused as to which side of the argument you're on, especially because in the span of one page you might be on either side on any given day. You're a pot stirrer extraordinaire, no doubt about that.

Look, if you think everything is all fair and equal that's wonderful. I wish I could live in a such a naive world like that. You probably also think everything NASCAR does us fair too right? All people are created equal and everyone has the same rights and opportunities as everyone else yada yada yada.

At the end if the day, most owners will structure teams in such a way that it gives the most chance of success. On a team like HMS, the differences are minute however there will be variances in performance levels. When Evernham was at HMS there was no doubt who got the best pit crew. When Dale was at RCR he had the best guys, when Mark Martin was at Roush he had the best they had to offer aswell. It's not an overt, obvious thing but it does happen.

They hired Childers away from MWR before his contract is up ...Plucked..got the exact date wrong, so what of it? Get a grip will ya.

again where is your proof that it is so..If you can find one thread where a driver or a team owner, or anything that proves your point I will shut up about it. You got nothing.

Lol, you changed your argument and now you want me to back off. Cool. Your argument was that he was:

Childers and Tony's chief Johnson were plucked from MWR after their spingate fiasco.

So maybe your details weren't all that correct? Man a "football A lister" like me can remember more details than you, a TRUE NASCAR FAN????????? I am so shocked!!!

Oh and they didn't hire him away before his contract was up. His contract was up at the end of the 2013 season and he informed MWR that he was not returning after the 2013 season. It was MWR who then sat him for the rest of the season.

Don't worry, if you do get called out with facts you will just go cry in your hole.

this might help ya. how good is the all star game where they pick out the best players..same thing if you start switching pit crew members. Lots of potential, but no results.
