Harvick Rips Dale Jr. For Performance & Impact on NASCAR

He still cheated
It's not cheating if it's not against the rules. Maybe in some tighter-regulated series it might be considered that way. And I don't believe other drivers wouldn't do the same thing in that position. Championship on the line, and they're gonna roll over...I don't buy it.

Wouldn't have needed to do it anyways if NASCAR didn't redefine, midrace, what a restart was.

One thing about it, Harvick won't have to worry about himself being the most popular driver after Jr retires. :D And I seriously doubt JJ will be either. Probably Elliott, Larson, Blaney in no particular order will be contenders to take over the spot.

Regading Harvick at Dega if memory serves everyone new his car wouldn't get going and during the first restart he moved out of the way and in the second he jacked up the field. My memory is not the greatest so I may be wrong.

Was Kevin asked this question?

This might not be a popular statement on here but......

Just because you can say something doesn't mean you should.

Great post and very good advice as I think the primary purpose for Harvick's comment was to throw Jr's fan base under the bus.

I think Harvick is a little off base. I think most here would agree with that NASCAR was at its peak from around 1994-2002 or so. Bill Elliott was the most popular at that time. How successful was he during that time frame? At one point he had a six year winless drought. That didn't have an effect on popularity. That being said,NASCAR fans were very different back then.

I worry about how he is going to fit in the booth with all this endless yapping and jabbering they are doing these days. That ain't Jr IMO.
I think they gave you idea what it will be like. They put the 2 yappers out of the booth on their own set and only 2 guys in the booth.

A-MEN. Why did I not just say what you said last night? Oh well, you made my point for me. :p

I just don't believe that considering we live in the United States of America and have a thing called free speech. Nothing wrong g with what Harvick said, yes it might be hurtful to Jr and his fans but sometimes the truth hurts.

Nothing wrong with you having your freedom of speech or Harv having his freedom of speech. The same freedom of speech allows me and others to say that what Harv said may not be entirely truthful, ya know? Ya got me? :)

we also have a saying that stupid is what stupid does, Harvick's stunt isn't going to make me tune into his show, but I do look at him a bit differently. He has been saying and doing some of the most disturbing comments and actions for years. Doesn't make it right on some levels IMO

I have been trying for a few days to convince myself that what Delana's wife said wasn't the result of being a complete douchebag. I have been unsuccessful thus far. I like to see the good in people so I will keep working on it.

Now hearing that Dale wants to meet with Delana's wife. Would somebody please help the man? Amy--Where the hell are you now? Delana's wife says it wasn't personal. Get Dr. Phil!!!!!!!!!!!!

nope it's the same stuff just a different driver's suit saying it. But on the stupid meter KDB is pretty far in front.

Dunno about that Delana's wife went after NASCAR's favored son.

Look, Harvick made a poor decision to go this direction. It's not the first time his mouth was engaged before the filter could turn on. No point in doing it, as it only makes him look bad.

His point about Jr and NASCAR ratings is warped. I contend the ratings and popularity may have absolutely tanked during this dreadful period if Jr was NOT racing. After his death, Dale Earnhardt fans shifted their loyalty to Jr, and he picked up even more over time. Frankly, Harvick and all drivers/teams owe a debt of gratitude to him for helping to keep the sport afloat.

I do, only a couple drivers recently have been suspended for stupid moves, one of them thought he had a good reason, the other driver had ruined his being able to advance in the CUP series. the idiot cup driver the second time was in a truck race screwing up a full time truck drivers chances at a truck championship when he got suspended. Then the goof thinking they were going to run him off, forms an Xfinity team that smelled up that series. It's a good thing the talking heads haven't thought it was a good idea to give KDB his own talk show. hopefully they are thinking twice about now their decision to give Harvick one.

You are stretching it man, but go ahead.

StandOnit and Revman --- I don't know if you're playing or firing shots at each other.
But I think it's time to move off the open forum --- please take it private.

Dunno, think we are being pretty civil....but okay.

For the life of me, I do not understand the point of going after Junior. Just don't. The dude is unhate-able. Sounds to me like Delana's wife is a bit jealous. The jack nut called the fans stupid, the most popular driver unworthy and a loser in his last season. Shut your mouth, and Junior goes away in February. I mean, it seems to me that he really had to commit to being a douchebag.

I guess, it ain't a bunch of lies and half truths like you let others get away with whatever. something to do

ain't no stretch to it. you know the history.

I do. Stretch. Delana's wife has been a dick plenty. Can't count the times because I don't care. Kyle dislikers? Never forget. They care. I am sure Kyle is flattered....or not.

you got to overlook a hell of a lot, I'll give ya that. One win in over a year and you would think he won the (cheaters ball) oops the championship.:p

The fact that this is a big topic is plenty of reason why the comments were a good thing. Yeah alot don't agree with them, and Harvick knowledged thw fact that it wasn't a popular opinion.

Delana's wife mentioned that Junior's comments on driver salaries weren't 100% well received. Now I get it. He paid Junior back. Equilibrium restored.

You could tell Jr never really was all in to racing after his father died. Harvick on the other hand has always been an ass.

I think the fiery sports car wreck he had in 2004 affected him more.
