Has Kevin Harvick (at age 43) Lost A Step?

He's definitely not the mind game specialist he once thought he was. Chase goes out and finishes 2nd and damn near wins at Vegas after the pre-race media circus and insults, then today his plan to junk the same guy completely backfires in his face. He got schooled upstairs and on the racetrack by a 25 year old and made himself look like a mental midget.

When I hear fans say a driver should retire just because they had a bad year after having a dominating year just shows me how out of tune they are about motorsports and everything that it takes to have a successful season. I'm a little surprised Andy fell for this being around it as much as he is...or maybe he is just trolling... I don't know he does it so much. Harvick was dominating last year and something other then he is a year older changed this year and he has struggled... but next year the cars are changing again and he could come back and dominate again if they get an early handle on the new car. Drag racing fans tried to retire John Force around 4 championships ago and now in his 70's he is in a close run for a 17th. Unless Harvick has something more interesting that he want's to do or he thinks he has lost his edge he would be nuts to retire this year if he has sponsors and team owners that want him to stay. But he does need to put his frustration with Elliott behind him and get his head back in the game. If Elliott is still upset he needs to do the same because he still has a championship to chase and doesn't need to be distracted.
 
There's still a lot of racing and some have more to lose than others. I'll be satisfied when Harvick prevents Chase from winning a championship.

Harvick does anything else he needs to be suspended. No damn reason to keep it going, Kevin 45 years old and the 25 year old is acting more mature than he is.

Wrecking someone on purpose because they cost you a win(after Kevin cost Chase the same race mind you) is some bs. I like Harvick. But he was a *******. Will be a ******* if he keeps it going. Maybe he should focus on getting back to Victory Lane.
 
You'd be ticked off too if a guy cost you a shot at a win. Can't say I'd do anything different than Harv other than take the helmet off and dare golden boy to take a swing.

Yeah he had 8 wins last year and they’re calling him a choker, it’s funny. I actually don’t like Harvick but if you can’t respect his ability than you’re clueless and naive.

Depends on the situation, track, package. Sometimes racing very hard with no fenders or paint traded can be just as entertaining

Yeah I enjoy racing like that and I dont like the package changes after 2018. This year was a throw away year anyway. It's very doubtful Harvick would have even advanced past the round of 8. I've never liked Chevrolet or HMS. Couldn't stand Gordon back in the day. I'm glad Chase lost the race. He had way more to lose than Harvick and that's exactly what happened he lost what was likely another W. Hahaha!

Yeah but we're second in all time wins in the SEC for any of you Georgia fan boi's and nobody has beaten Alabama more times than Tennessee. And ain't nobody throttled us this year either...
 
That’s my point though it’s kinda weird seeing them struggle for 15 years now lol. They’re supposed to be right there with Alabama & Florida.
 
Almost every great program goes through a down slide. Ours has been fairly long and painful for sure. I think we're finally on the right track but I've thought that before in the past 15 years lol
 
Kevin hasn’t lost a step as a driver. I’m just curious if KHI Management teaches people to put their helmet on during a UFC fight.

Why do you feel like Kevin needs to keep wrecking Chase and take him out of championship contention?

He wrecked Chase at Bristol
He wrecked Chase at Charlotte

Chase hasn’t even laid the bumper to Kevin. The worse thing he’s done is cause Kevin to finish second. Meanwhile Harvick is out and Elliott is still in.

This isnt really a rivalry. It’s Kevin Harvick dumping Chase Elliott over and over for no reason.
 
At this point I don't understand Chase. Seriously Kevin has nothing to lose and an owner that will stand behind him. If I were him I'd do everything in my power to make sure this is over

And he took Chase's shot at a win yesterday. So when does it end? You think Harvick has the right to just go out and wreck Chase every single weekend now? It's done, you tried to get your revenge and it failed, that's on Harvick. If he does anything else he's getting suspended.

Big bad Harvick has the opportunity to take a swing too if he's that pissed off.
 
I think it’s fair to suggest that Harvick was more focused on Elliott the last few weeks than he was his own chances at making the next round. Kinda obvious really.

That’s pretty cool to do for your sponsors. I mean they’re not gonna give any F’s about that, but you can see where Kevin put his priorities

Also, who is the last driver we could all say Harvick actually ‘intimidated’? I recall many times he has had post race moments with drivers, but there’s a narrative Jen Fryer even suggested a few weeks back on the Door Bumper Clear podcast, that “Kevin is the best at playing mind games”

where is that proven?

You do realize that Kevin cost Chase’s shot at a win at Bristol first, right? If Kevin races Chase clean instead of clearing him out and cutting the #9’s tire, Chase has no reason to retaliate by blocking Kevin in the final laps.

Kevin started this whole mess, has tried to play the victim, and has still had his clock cleaned.

And the Bristol incident was boil over (on Chase's end) because Harv doored him a couple times at Darlington. But, since Golden Boy is involved, all logic is out the window and pitchforks and torches are out (on both sides).

Do they root for Byron to fail too?
 
Gordon haters? Pretty sure the Gordon haters aka the Earnhardt fans shifted their allegiance to Elliott.

Well, at least two people here seem to be quite pleased that Byron is out of the playoffs. I think the hatred for HMS is so strong in some people that they would boo them if the four drivers were Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.
