"The 43 owners who make the race earn points equal to the driver points. "

Thanks pounder.

I understand why the thread was posted. Newbies often have questions. But for a poster like FB to be so utterly confused caught me of guard to the point where I thought he was messing with me. Then I remembered the other day he had questions in another thread about owner/driver points until someone explained the difference.

Welcome Dwayne great question and great topic. They don't all go viral, but good on you.

The bottom line is that Dwayne got his answer which is that Driver Point and Owner Point totals may not necessarily be the same.:)

I don't beleive this subject has been fully explained to my satisfaction, could you please go over it again?
Also please explain how the points are awarded when a driver is substituded before a race starts versus after a race starts and what the bearing the substitute drivers series claim ( wether he's claiming points in Cup,Nationwide or truck ) has on these substitutions?

Okay
Points go to the driver who starts the race, regardless of who finishes the race. If that driver is claiming a different series points(the one who starts the race) then there will be no driver points awarded just owner points for the finishing position the car achieves.

If Trevor Bayne leads the most laps and wins a CUP race, he will get zero driver points but the owner of the car would get 47 owner points. In conclusion, driver point standings and owner point standings can be completely independent of one another. Only FB would complicate something so simple.:D

You need to say CUP race...
Same if it were Miss Thang or Elliott Sadler in a CUP Race!
Great Point!

But if the driver gets driver points and the owner gets owner points
who gets race points?

Al Sharpton.

Are you sure? I thought it was Jesse Jackson - but it's easy to confuse the two, ceptin for the hair and stuff...

So does Danica use TBR's or SHR's owner points at Darlington?

I understand that she uses TBR's points, and that's part of the reason that the 10 car stayed out, probably. (Trying to stay in the Top 35 for a guaranteed starting spot.) She gets zero driver points, SHR gets zero owner points (they go to TBR) but both get gazillions of dollars!

The cars are prepared by SHR when Miss Thang climbs into the **** pit.

So does Danica use TBR's or SHR's owner points at Darlington?

TBR is listed as the owner of the 10 car wether Danica is driving or Rueti is, it's a very compicated and I feel unfair deal put together between SHR and TBR in order to help Danica make races.

I'm still confused about this......

It was actually a pretty funny joke, normaly you would use Radius x 2 x 3.14 to get the circumference of a circle. I think DP is saying this discussion is going in a circle.....or No Where in a amusing way.

Great this could be a problem

Kinda reminds me of Bill Wyman. He married a girl MUCH younger than him. He always had a "thing" for younger women. He son ended up marrying the girl's Mother!

Try explaining THAT family tree!!! lol
