I don't beleive this subject has been fully explained to my satisfaction, could you please go over it again?
Also please explain how the points are awarded when a driver is substituded before a race starts versus after a race starts and what the bearing the substitute drivers series claim ( wether he's claiming points in Cup,Nationwide or truck ) has on these substitutions?

If Trevor Bayne leads the most laps and wins a CUP race, he will get zero driver points but the owner of the car would get 47 owner points. In conclusion, driver point standings and owner point standings can be completely independent of one another. Only FB would complicate something so simple.
