By Matts 5th full season, he'd already won a Championship, and had 4 times as many wins as Joey does.

Yeah well he's doing a lot better than you guys gave credit for. And I DO believe he will have a better career than Kenseth, no doubt in my mind. But I guess we'll have to wait about 20 years to be sure lol.

I'm happy for you that Joey's running well SB22, but please root responsibly. Using a small window of time to try to prove that Joey is a better driver than Kyle or Matt comes off looking a little silly. Joey's only 23 and looks like he's going in the right direction, but he's got a ways to go before he's in the same class as those two.

I just realized that and I haven't seen u around for a while and me n u were the ones getting into over all this lol so I gota rub it in a bit. I know its early and anything can happen but I gotta get it in when I can lol.. I do feel a win comin soon though. You ever notice how when rad wantd Joey to come over there he said about how Joey unloads fast and and that Brad could use that etc.. anyway Joey with his new team hasn't really been able to do that. He's been more of a closer as they take the race to get the car right at a lot of tracks but theyre always one of the fastest cars near the end. Im looking forward to when they come back to tracks throughout the next couple years and they've got the notes. Once he can start unloading fast I think they'll start getting the wins. I mean that's how it goes, u start knockin off top 10's and 5's and the wins will come. They've run beyond my expectations all year really. Im looking forward to next season I think they'll be a real contender for wins on a more regular basis.

So far, I'd compare Joey's 2013 season to Martin Truex Jr's 2012 season...no wins, but a lot of consistently good finishes. That was enough to get Truex in the Chase last year, might work for Joey too.

I duno I think he's gona get the win(s) soon. While I do like the comparison to Truex's season, Joey will move someone to win a race. He's not really aggressive and for the most part lets his car do the work, if he has an 8th place car chances r he's gona finish 8th. But give him a car that he ends up putting near the front at the end of a race and he's gona do whatever it takes to win. That's a big part of what I like about him. He's smart, there's a lot he needs to learn but there's a lot he knows. More than most 23 years old drivers would. The one big thing is that it always seemed to take a while into the race to get his car fast in the past years. I think he and Todd Gordon just gel together better and are able to get the car going earlier in the races and that's resulting in solid finishes. Once they come back to a few tracks and are able to unload faster I think they'll be able to contend for wins more often.

Point is, theres nothing to "rub in". Joey isn't running "great" as you claim. OK? Yea, but not great. Win a race before you talk about great. Hell, try finishing in the top 5 in back to back weeks even. The "haters" are still right.

I belive that in a few years Logano will prove to be as good or better than most cup drivers. It may be fun watching Joey and Brad battle hard for top dog status at Penske. Joey is in a good position partly because his CC has a mechanical engineering degree, and that makes it easier to get the engineering dept to give Joey what he needs in a race car.
There's nothing like almost losing your career to motivate a guy to knuckle down and decide he needs to race HIS WAY and stop giving so much to his competitors.

Okay well.. I disagree.. I will continue to believe Joey will do better than Kenseth.. Kenseth is not that great guys. Yeah he's a champion but he's never been one of the heavy hitters until maybe this year. He has great numbers but of most champions of the sport he doesn't really compare... Yeah its full of ifs and all that... but my opinion is not going to change and I have no intention of not sharing it when I want to. Like I said if u dont like it dont click on the thread..

I think Matt is proving he was held back at Roush. Multi-team organizations usually compromise between driver styles when designing their frames, but it's clear Roush is all about what Carl needs.... and Matt and Greg have to do the best they can while driving a car designed for the cash machine.
If you want to talk about overrated drivers, Carl is your guy. That guy has more brain farts than your average 90 year old.

Yeah I agree Kenseth was held back at Roush. Jack put all his cash into Carl and needs to secure his investment. That's why he got Fennig. Kenseth just stayed there too long and didn't put up the numbers he could have. While Kenseth is on a tear right now I wouldn't be surprised if he fizzles out after a few years. He has 28 wins now, I think he'll get to 40 or a bit more but hes getting up there in age while Joey is 23 and just got the chemistry and team that I think he'll do great with. Put Kenseth at Gibbs 12 years ago I'd bet he'd have 20 more wins or more yb now.. Joey at Penske is similar only difference is Joeys there now and not wasting his time at Gibbs with a team that doesn't fit him.
