I pretty much did that too, back in 2002 I was getting sick of ThatsRacin forums and all the crap there, looked around and found this place. I quickly got in a heated debate about DEI dominance on plate tracks and all the conspiracy theories associated with it...I was hooked! Although I have taken breaks from this place for almost a year at a time, I always come back, best racing forum on the internet.
 
I and a couple of my SHO car club buddies started our own forum. Our forum was called fordbastards. We catered to all the Fords that were considered High Performance cars other than the Mustang that were built between 1989-2003. For 2 reasons. 1st reason was because everybody seems to own a dang Mustang and 2nd reason Ford hated seeing any of us drive into one of their dealerships for any kind of repairs. Where most of our traffic came from on our forum was from our 'fun runs' we did 3 times a year. In 2003 the club did our 1st road course, then in 2005 6 of us got speeding tickets on our fall fun run, so that freaked out a bunch of members. We did our last fun run in spring 2007.

In 2008 most of the members sold off those cars because gas prices kept going up and most of these cars liked the taste of gasoline, not to mention the economy crash. So after a while I got tired of no traffic on the forum, also I wanted a forum that was more into racing than polishing their cars so I ended up here.

Pretty much the same for me. I forget about the place a lot (usually in the off season) but I always come back eventually.
 
When I was asked to join , I didn't think that there was much that I could add to the conversation . (Boy was I wrong ). Once I got over pissin people off with catch phrases like "Every villiage needs an idiot " , "Man , are you stupid " , and "Get off my lawn " , things went a lot better . You guys (and girls ) seem a lot friendlier now . Oh , the folks at the nursing home have their favorites (Andy) , but I don't have any favorites (cept maybe Lisa ) . Other forums that I was a member of seemed to be made up of clicks that couldn't see past their favorite driver and just wanted to yell at anyone who didn't agree . I got yelled at a lot . Except for the one Joey fan , that doesn't happen here .:) Have a great raceday everyone.

This is my favorite dysfunctional group of heathens.
 
I believe it was mentioned to me on another forum who I now block lol. Its also the 3rd racing forum I've been on and only one that didn't die.
