If you need more than that, your sims are out of whack and need an update or two.

TrueBetter than an empty quiet track
40 cars out on the track at once for 15 minutes. What is that going to look like? The gerbils will blow a seal about that
What do teams with two cars get, a half of a backup car?NASCAR Cup Series is a big deal, and I'd like to see them act like it is. It's America's top racing series, and the world's top oval-racing series. As a purist fan, I'd like to see at least two practice sessions, then qualifying. The top pros deserve an opportunity to hone their car and themselves into the best they can be.
That's just my opinion, and I realize there are economic reasons why that ain't gonna happen. Also, it is a minor gripe compared to the low horsepower / high downforce rules package. I'd much rather change that, irrespective of any practice or qualifying formats.
Also, I wonder if we are in for a real change in rules pertaining to backup cars??? F1 doesn't permit backup cars. IndyCar doesn't either. I think there could be a fundamental change about that in NASCAR. Maybe just one backup car per four-car organization? That would save some real money, at least I think it would.
