that is 13 to 27 in the standings all but the dinger have won cup races, Bowyer, Kahne, Biffle, Montoya, Burton, Vickers are all former chase drivers

Teams tend to need drivers to make cars go, you see I'm not sure if you've ever operated a motor vehicle but they involve a brain wave to send a response to the foot which makes the foot push on the accelerator. This in turn makes the car go. Which is generally considered necessary for the success in the motor sports world.

What's ironic about Edwards winning with only 1 win is that the 1 win came in the 3rd race of the season, exactly the same race the Matt won his only race in 2003.
 
Man, it has been a while since I was on here! I have saw a couple things from this thread I want to comment on....

1. Carl Edwards becoming champion with 1 win. This whole thing I still think is ridiculous and to some extent proves that with or without the chase consistency remains king over wins. The only thing the Chase did was give Stewart, who had a mediocre at best year, and make hiim a championships contender. I for one can't wait to see what NASCAR says about it if Edwards becomes champion with 1 win.

2. Anyone in the top 27 can win the chase. Now that right there is a flat out joke. There are guys in the Chase that I don't think are capable of winning it. I mean can you really see Ryan Newman or Dale Jr pulling off winning the Chase?!? Let alone guys in the top 27 like Marcos Ambrose, Kasey Kahne etc.... That is not a hit on those guys, I just think this really isn't a well thought out statement.
 
If Carl wins the championship with one win, NASCAR will gladly crown him champion just as they have to other one-time winners of the champions trophy. ;)
