I certainly hope it’s a clean one, I know there’s some concern that, not having raced competitively in almost nine months and some of these guys having no or barely any oval experience, things could be even more on edge than usual. Obviously you usually have over 1000 miles of total running time at IMS just a few weeks before.I always look forward to IndyCar's Texas race, it's a great race to get the season underway.
IndyCar found a good way to prevent pack racing, make the cars so damn fast on the straightaway that they have to lift going into turn 1.
300 miles is too short though. The race is going to be over in less than two hours.
It sounds like this is going to be a mess or a single-file bore. There’s no grip in the outside where the PJ1 was applied before the postponed Cup race, then scrubbed from the track last week.
This track needs to be nuked. Unraceable across NASCAR and IndyCar.
Official. Ouch.
The track scrubbed the compound but the coloring is still there, and really slick with how hot it’s been today. They get that traction compound worked in, it could be a barn burner after the herd gets culled down
They do have speed limiters like in F1?Rossi sped on pit road. Stick a fork in him.
Pits are going to be importantWow passing is almost impossible right now. I worry that wind screen is delivering some dirty air
Yeah, you have to be within a certain range of the speed limit for the limiter to hold the RPMs when you push it though. If the limit is 60 and the threshold is 70 and you enter at 75 you’re screwed unless you back it down more to get to the average. They do have speed limiters like in F1?
There’s more drag for sure. That and like 1/8th of the track is actually usable.Wow passing is almost impossible right now. I worry that wind screen is delivering some dirty air
