They just said as many as 15 people with possible injuries
Franchitti was transported to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston, where he was found to have suffered a spinal fracture that will not require surgery, a broken ankle, and a concussion. Some 13 others were treated for injuries due to flying debris.

I hate street courses. Crappy pavement, no runoff, and few places to pass.
Some of them can put on very entertaining races, but it does seem like there are too many areas with poor safety and no or little runoff. And with other issues like parts of the courses coming up, train tracks, bumps, etc., I wonder how much longer they're going to pad the schedule with these races. The race was fantastic IMO. Do love the short, bumpy, technical racetracks.
Hoping the two fans that went to the hospital are OK. That grandstand was set back from the fence a good amount and all of that debris still got pretty far up there, it seems.
Wow! Very scary! Yeah, there's no way in hell that street circuit meets FIA requirements.Amazing footage from the grandstands. The fans had literally no time to react, it happened so quickly: http://m.click2houston.com/news/loc...sh/-/16714936/22306500/-/n5p35lz/-/index.html
