Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

One thing that could have changed is people like me being born who love to go see and Indy Car race… I mean if Atlanta got one again I would love to go, so maybe others like me was born? Let’s not rule that out as people was born in the 90s after all, and after as well.
Yep I took my opportunity when they were at Pocono, wish they'd come back.

We almost had that in the 70's when NASCAR scaled down their series and USAC had a stock car series. A number of NASCAR drivers would race in the USAC races when Cup was off.

I'll give it a chance.

However, from SMI's perspective Atlanta has been struggling with ticket sales. Maybe this is the idea to generate more interest. I liked the old configuration more, but I'm not in charge of sales and what not.

I think Bob pulled a bonehead and means 550HP. They have never spoke of a 510 package.
Or autocorrect. It does the darndest things sometimes without any explainable rhyme or reason. Just recently my phone kept autocortecting random words to "refrigerator" even though I don't recall typing that word in months

Instead of running the more races at a football stadium, they should do the Pikes Peak Hill Climb instead. Might bring back more viewership if they can get the camera situation figured out.

When is NASCAR scheduled to start working on the track at the Coliseum?

Or even drag racing (that used to be in NASCAR)

I mean that, or a H2H up the mountain?

Or they could just do a couple of timed stages of NASCAR Pikes Peak Hill Climb on Friday & Saturday, Final Stage on Sunday? (Practice sessions the days before)

NASCAR up Pikes Peak sounds dope. Better put in my submission on the Fan Council for this gimmick.

Video was sent out yesterday by Brian Herbst, pretty good visual and a Bojack Horseman reference:

I freaking love this. You capture the attention of 50% of the people in the Southland, and you have done something huge. Should be fascinating to see it play out. I love LA. Think about it....that place is so important, NASCAR will do all of this just to get a shot a being part of the conversation. Incredible.

Bruton/Marcus could have built a pretty nice dirt track for a little more than that, or at least bought one.
But you don't have the seating and amenities that the existing track already has

Thats wild. was the field dug up or is that dirt just going to be put over it?
Stadiums with grass routinely resod a few times a year. But it's a good thing this is an older facility; newer ones often have a variety of infrastructure under there. Besides having to be careful removing the sod, there's the possibility of whatever's down below not holding up under the unplanned weight. I wonder how much the final product, with cars and teams, will weigh compared to a packed rock concert's platforms and fans?

Paving over grass is never a good idea.

I didnt know how this was going to work with a much older facility like The Coliseum. I know that compared to new facilities like where the Arizona Cardinals play or the Las Vegas Raiders, their playing surface is on a track and able to be moved outside easily. Many new soccer stadiums across the world are like this too. I also couldn't fathom if they were going to pave over the grass which sound stupid in theory but I quite didnt know what was going to be done to pull this racing surface together.

The sod is stripped and if it's in good condition, rolled up and stored for re-use.

The material they're working is part of the base-prep for the asphalt.
