Is Danica not a driver?

These are why we can't have nice things.

She's a driver with boobs, any attention either way is annoying as hell.
 
Danica sucks. It's sad to see how many people here are willing to verbally blow her (Just like Michael Waltrip does all the damn time) - It's obvious she's nowhere near the level a cup driver should be at. The only reason she's in that car is because of her marketing value, because it's damn sure not because she can win races, or even put down good finishes.

Stop with the "give her time, give her time" garbage. How long are you going to continue to say this? Until she wins a race? Lol.

I'm not a fan of Danica, nor am I a Danica hater. I will say the one area she impresses me in is she completes a lot of laps. She completed 92% of the 10 races she started last year and 88% through the first 4 races this year. Do I think she was ready for Cup? No. Do I think she will contend for race wins? Outside of RP tracks, no. She may get one by default with fuel mileage or rain but outside that, IDK. But right now she's completing laps and that's what she needs to do.

Sometimes I think she'll make it, sometimes I wonder. Her parade laps comments sound scripted to make her sound like she understands the keys to winning the days race.
 
16 races run and she was on the same last lap 3 times out of sixteen. 2 of those same lap finishes were on plate tracks. That is in cup anyway.
Something that doesn't make sense to me, is that in the 73 races is cup and Nationwide she ran, they only let her run three road courses. 7,23,27 with the 7th being when she didn't get the car damaged. This year she will run the cup road races. It will be interesting if she gets a nationwide ride for their road courses. Doesn't make sense that the Indycars she drove had lots of road racing in the series, and they seem to be keeping her out of those races in Nascar.
 
I've made predictions on new drivers and been right and wrong. I thought for sure about five years ago Juan Pablo would reach the elite group but he never recovered from that pit speeding violation at the Brickyard. He not only plateaued but dropped off. I don't see anything of that promise in DP, just a good open wheel oval driver now in Nascar and raised at least one level too high because she's a marketing gold mine.

I'm pretty sure if she was a male with the same talent she would be driving on the Camping World level, which is the bottom line. Watching her qualifying laps at Phoenix was downright scary.

I hear that. I thought the same thing with Juan Pablo, thought he would be definitely be doing better then he is.. I think part of it is that he is really popular like Dale Jr. south of the border, something we fans in the U.S don't realize. He is a big draw out in California. He has a secure ride, making plenty of money for He and Chip, got the wife and a couple of kids..life is good in Bogata.
Danica oh Danica, mostly a product of advertising and the media goons. This is kind of a new movement, driver celebrity, star power. Marty Robbins, country singer years ago, raced Nascar, but he did it for the racing, not the money and fame because Nascar wasn't that big or popular back in the 70's.
Big difference between the two, Juan Pablo raced his way to fame and has the racing records. Lil Danny had to be a media darling to get there. I'm thinkin when she fades out of racing, we will see her on a fluffy couch in a Playboy centerfold. Be careful removing the staples.:)

This is spot on correct. There are plenty of drivers in the truck and nationwide series with as much talent but lack the marketability. If it was only about talent she would be in the truck series.

Well you have to factor in that there weren't as many reporters back then and they were mostly using typewriters so they didn't get as many stories out.

There are plenty of girls/women in racing, I remember Pioneers Janet Guthrie, and Shirley Muldowney dude. Never said they don't belong.
Lil Danny..belonging..the media and being #2 in driver popularity says that she does $$$. Tru Blue racing fans, might be a different story. I like her for the entertainment side of it..like, what are they going to come up with next to get her in front of the cameras? That is the Go Daddy million dollar question.

Stewart Haas on the other hand is saying to the crew chief. Keep the car tight so she finishes the race, she runs out of talent easily.:)

crap, they are announcing that the car is her problem this week. Gotta be tough to be a crew person, getting the blame for mostly lack of experience and talent.o_O
 
Don't see the problem, Danica practiced at p38 and is within 2 seconds of the front runners, and as long as she is within 2.8 seconds she shouldn't get the black flag for being to slow. . She will probably crack the 35 during the race, and with some good pit strategy she could get a top 30 finish.
