It's a sad day for Rock music...

Apparently Root was fired from Stone Sour via phone call. Kinda lame.

Thats another report I've heard about Corey Taylor actually being a douche. I hope, I look up to him :(

That's nothing. Some of the rumors have Jordison being fired via singing telegram.

New Dream Theater live video/album came out Tuesday; still waiting for mine to arrive in the mail.

Thats actually... Kind of funny.

Knowing that Knot has oil drums full of burning camel feces during their sets... I wouldnt put it past them to do something stupid like that.

So, switching gears to hard rock for a second, this is Fireflight. They are probably my favorite hard rock band and my favorite Christian band. It ain't even close as far as the latter goes. I don't listen to much Christian hard rock/metal these days.

There's nothing but junk on L.A. radio, unless I'm on the Classic Rock station. In my work truck I listen to news/talk radio. In my car, I play my music through my Sync system.
Only one station I listen to

Yeah, I just listen to my own stuff from my mp3 player.

Enjoy the music, eff the radio. ;)

I couldn't even tell you the last time I listened to the radio, other than MRN or PRN. It may make me out of touch, but that's probably a good thing.

Count me in as one who's totally out of touch with what's current in "popular" music. I keep up with the music that I like, and try to ignore the mainstream stuff. I have no interest in listening to the Biebers and Gagas of the world.

I'm with most of you on this one. I listen to my mp3 almost exclusively. I've heard several people say they really like Sirius or XM or things like that, but my tastes are pretty varied and usually not all that popular. Joe Bonamassa, RED, Flogging Molly, mostly older (but not really old) country music, Rush, Iron Maiden, James Taylor, a lot of it depends on my mood or what I'm doing at the time.

I'm like that about Sirius too, All the The music channels are all so specific, and don't offer the variety I like.

I've been inching my way back into symphonic metal and listening to a lot of Xandria and Epica over the last couple of days. They both put out what I consider to be their best albums earlier this year, Sacrificium and The Quantum Enigma. Here are two of my favorite songs from those albums:

Xandria is quite possibly my overall favorite metal band right now, of any subgenre.
