Man I miss DW kicking off the season at Daytona. It just seems like a glaring hole in the booth. I really miss his commentary especially at the start of the season.
I’m the only one here who likes Mikey.
Do you send post-dated checks to Buffy too?Plus I'm the same as him.
After that display, no it is notAs a matter of fact, it is Daytona without Darrell Waltrip. Hello 2020.
But is it a real race track?

My favorite DW story was about Old Magic squirrel.
Old Magic had been trained to sit on the left inside chassis tubing on the track. In the tech line he would go the right side of the chassis to read more right side weight. He kept maturing and literally learned how to manage the race day led belly. Him and old DW won a lot of short track races leading up to his cup career...
It was the Tungsten that finally killed Old Magic, he couldn't pass it....
I always enjoy a gross generalization.Doesn't take much to get under their skin. Most don't have a sense of humor I have found or want to look for one.
Naw, I kinda like Mikey to in that annoying cousin that everyone has way.I’m the only one here who likes Mikey.

Speaking only for myself ... Michael Waltrip should not be permitted on the property at Daytona or anywhere else NASCAR sanctions events.
Irritated is one way to describe Richmond, 2013.some are easily irritated. They usually don't have a sense of humor either. Probably why he continues to have a job is because most people think he does a good job and is humorous.
Thats it, wrap it up yall. ****** post of the year.Mike Joy and Jeff Gordon are great but..."reach up and pull them belts tight one more time..."
I’d agree Gordon seemed a bit off without DW, it’s almost like he got used to correcting DW or “I’ll let the out of touch old guy finish his thought and I’ll just step in with something relevant to today” thought process isn’t going to work this year. Jeff is THE analyst this year, so it’ll be interesting to see how he adjusts as the year goes on. Still think they need a crew chief in the booth, someone that’s actually been on the pit box within the last 5 years to relate to us today’s pit strategies, car setups and trendsI thought Mike Joy took a step forward and Gordon took 5 steps back. He sounded like this was his first ever broadcast with the fumbling of words and easy mistakes he was making. Overall it was more enjoyable to hear less talking from the booth and it made me not miss DW one bit

If I could like the above post a million times I would.Same. It would suck if everyone covering Nascar was just business and serious all the time. Yeah it's ridiculous but wth people need to lighten up a little.

It requires a sense of humor to realize that Michael Waltrip's performances don't qualify as humor.
I would take him over Rutledge though.
I respect Darrell Waltrip greatly, but it was time. The two man Fox booth is a breath of fresh air.
Every driver has blatantly cheated but most never got caught or admitted to cheatingMy $2 dollars worth (inflation) on Mickey:
He blatantly cheated to high heaven in the top tier of Nascar and should be banned from anything to do with Cup and or any series of Nascar. He should not be allowed on the premises of any track that a Nascar series is racing at. This is just how I feel about it.
