Jeff Gordon hired to be a road course ringer?
Dont know about Watkins Glen, that track has been a pain but def Sonoma.

No W @ Kentucky.Does Jeff have a win at all current cup tracks?
Does he have a Kentucky win?
Not trick or bait questions, I am really unsure of Kentucky.
The point being, having a W at every current track, is a classy or cool exit.
Came out of team workouts, read the FoxSports page & the last thing I remember is "CLEAR"!
Thank you for the memories Jeff!
24ever!
Where were you when Gordon announced his full time retirement?
I hate farewell tours in any sport. Hate them. I have all of the respect in the world for Jeff Gordon, but I don't see how the increased attention as he goes from track to track for the last time won't take away from a championship run. Drive like hell. Hang the helmut up. Walk away.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't want the attention that brings but he has to announce he will retire to let the team and organization know where things would be headed. On a business perspetive he has to let people know and he owes it to his fans to let them know as well. It'd be ****** if he just randomly says yep I'm done **** you all.
I do agree all the fake praises people get when they announce their retirement gets annoying. Like I'm pretty sure Clint doesn't give two ****s about Gordon but he chimed in with the fake congratulatory twitter post.
I promise you that had Jeff won the whole thing last year, he would have walked away. No question. He could have handled the business side privately. Hell, we never have any idea of the specifics of contracts. No, this is by design. It's going to be hard to watch after 25 or so races. Hell, Moody was about ready to announce his engagement to Jeff by the end of his show on NASCAR Radio and we aren't even at Race 1 yet.
Both??Jeff was just saying during his TMD interview that he would consider a move to a television role for NASCAR.
So, which one of the two current driver/analyst days are numbered..... DW or Jeff Burton, even before he gets started?
thats probably a once in a life time experience bubba! There are thousands of fans that have gone to races & not seen their driver win. Cherish that memory dude!At least I got to see him win.
Deal always made sense called this back then as well. Some of the people are saying that the Kasey Kahne deal now make sense, I guess this is in reference to Hendricks signing him on again?

Resigning Kasey at the time I said one he deserved it, and two I thought it was a sign that Jeff was hanging it up.What deal are they talking about though, and how does it relate to Jeff Gordon?
It's gonna be like 1998 all over again.Guess who will get 90 % of the camera coverage this year
I think he's going to run the 4 plate races, both road courses, and the 600 for a "part time" schedule. The plate tracks because anybody can do it, road courses because he has always enjoyed them, and the 600 for the eliteness.
I was sitting on the throne reading the sports page.Came out of team workouts, read the FoxSports page & the last thing I remember is "CLEAR"!

I hope he runs the Rainbow Warrior colors sometime this year.
AS a part time driver he can run some races in a HMS car. He's not doing part time in 2016. When he said he would still be at some tracks in 2016 he was talking about PR stuff for HMS and his foundation. He also said he doesn't want the Jeter type stuff where he takes attention away from the actual racing. If Kurt is out of the 41 does Chase go PT in that car with another driver? Just to get him seat time in say 10 races or more
They did it in 2004. Why not 2015?I really, REALLY want to see the Rainbow one last time.
But Jeff performing well at plate tracks is no surpriseInteresting, going into Daytona.
Two years ago the big story was Patrick beginning a full time cup season. She wins the pole.
Last year we saw the return of the 3 along with the anticipated hype. Dillon wins the pole.
Most likely Gordon's quitting will be the big story prior to this year's running of the first plate race of the season. Will anyone be surprised if the 24 takes the pole? Who will be surprised if he doesn't?
The commentary on the various and sundry media should be entertaining. Of course, if the 24 takes it, it's pure coincidence - just like the previous two years. Heh, heh, heh....
