Johali's rate the Cup race --- Daytona

It was the teams decision to run three wide saving fuel not Nascar's. It was the network with the techno knowledge to broadcast the speeds and throttle positions these days and make a big deal out of it. Back in the day when they did it also, you didn't have a clue they were doing it.
On the other hand Nascar could have found jaques debris, dropped the flag and took away the B.S. fuel mileage thing the teams were doing.
If you want to win the race with the rules you are given, you have to save fuel. I don't EVER blame the teams for exploiting the situations they are given, I blame the people that CREATED the situations, or at the very least, fails to address them.

Incorrect. The teams decided they wanted to save fuel so it would be faster refueling the car in the pits. That doesn't have anything to do with Nascar. The teams blocked the front row all by themselves. Nascar didn't make them do it.

It's the Great American Race because it is living off the reputation from a generation ago. It hasn't been great for a LONG time now. If you think every race is a great race, then either you are just easily entertained or you have low standards. How is watching cars drone around in formation at half throttle great to you?
You can call my standards low...and I am fine with that. I am happy. I would seriously pay to listen to MY Toyotas idle. That's just me. Kind of a golf mentality, right....I don't understand the sport, but the truly knowledgable do, so we should listen to them bitch about how it ain't what it used to be? No thanks. Less than a month, and I am at the track. The old school racing "experts" can stay home and bitch. I am good with that. Great day today! WINNERS!!!!!!!!

NASCAR didn't MAKE them do it, but they are in charge of the rules that make it the winning strategy, and don't even TRY to do something to prevent it. If the cars could actually pass each other and separate themselves, the half throttle schtick wouldn't work. I also hate the road course pit strategy where you spend 80% of the race trying to be the first car to pit the final time, but if you don't do it, someone else WILL, and they will most likely beat you, so what are your options? It's the team's job to win races, regardless of what you have to do to accomplish it. It's NASCAR's job to make sure the finished product is worth watching. In the case of superspeedway racing, they are failing miserably.

So Nascar should be able to control the teams and how they choose to run their races like R/C cars lol.
In many plate races there are teams that choose to pit for fuel while other teams stay out and try to stretch it out to the end. This race wasn't one of them.
No use acting like a two year old who's cookie fell in a mud puddle it's not going to change the out come. The teams will do what they do.
