A whole lot of people owe her a lot of apologies right now.

She had like the 5th worst best lap. I think she caught some lucky breaks with cautions falling at the right time. She was running top five at that late portion of the race, but it definitely wasn’t due to speed. She gets credit for a 17th place finish though, regardless of how it happened, so I’m sure she’ll take it.

What is that teams usual finish position?

It’s called running a smart race. She was on the lead lap most of the race in a car that usually isn’t. Plus we’re talking about a Cup Series rookie.

She’s getting better with seat time. And is taking care of her equipment.

Legge is not a bad driver. At her age and her limits on seat time, the ceiling is rather low, but she has ability, and she is BRAVE. That wreck she had at Road America in an Indy car would have been the end of the road for most of her detractors, and ANYBODY that drove that F'ing Delta Wing without getting themselves killed is alright in my book.

Probably the most talented female driver to ever drive a Cup Car. Transitioning to Cup at her age and not looking totally lost is an incredible achievement. If she had moved over instead of Danica, she would have had much better results.

Synergy is when the results exceed the sum of the parts. The Delta Wing was whatever ithe opposite is called, when the object somehow falls short of what the engineering and aerodynamics says it should be capable of. I don't think anyone else could have gotten more out of it; there was nothing more to get.

A little bit of an aside, and my following comments are not meant to address or counter anything you said; it just got me to thinking.

IMO, Janet Guthrie was a great talent, and her barriers were even taller.

I am happy to see Legge running Cup races even while still in racing development at her age. I don't see her as the speed barn burner type. It's too early to say in regards to overall racecraft.

But if she can just run clean races and finish on the lead lap in most races, I think it would be a great thing. I don't even care at this point if lucky dogs or wave-arounds get her there; it is a part of the cup gig now.

It seems like most of the world is looking for that first female race-winning moment. I am more of the building blocks mindset. Getting to a point of having several females running well and the norm is the best way to get there, in my opinion.

It goes back to preparation meeting opportunity. Turning somebody into a top-five type and the win(s) will happen, all in good time.

It broke. Game over, and when it did run it was slow. I don't think any female has been better than Guthrie. Her effort was sabotaged by the good ol' boy network, but her body of work in other racing series combined goes into my opinion. Legge is knocking on the door. She is driving junk also. Danica was given the best of everything.

I think Guthrie is the only one I would put above her.

Shawna Robinson also had some talent, she just never got a real opportunity because of assholes like Mike Wallace.

Jade Avedisian is running a dirt and a short track in ARCA this month for Venturini. She has won on dirt, won in the C.A.R.S series. She will have a good car and team under her. I believe she will be the best female in ARCA if they give her a full time ride. I think she can make it up the ladder.

Imagine Legge in SHR equipment
