Keeping all four teams

Haas talked a lot but said a little except I did pick up on this nugget.

“If we can have a driver that wins races — and with a reasonable sponsor — all the teams can be profitable. And that’s what we’re here for is to try to make a little money at this.”

So it sounds like prerequisite to Gene having 4 teams is having 4 drivers that either will win races or have a very good shot at it.

He gave himself some great wiggle room to drop a team or 2 if necessary too.

Kasey Kahne to the #10.

I would like to see Kahne go to the 10 and win as I believe that would make him the only person to win in a Dodge, Toyota, Chevrolet and Ford. Some others like BKez and Newman have done 3 of 4 but I can't remember anyone that has done 4 of 4.

No chance of Custer to the #10? ... or Maybe making it the #00 when he would step into it?

People have gone on record as saying that HMS will also still be fielding 4 teams.

Im curious as to why you are so jovial at the news. Did you real the article?

It seems that Kevin and Clint are safe but the fate of Kurt and DP are up in the air. From what Allen has said, reports of SHR negotiating to get DP out of the organization and the vibe DP has put off it sure sounds like her last year. Anything is possible as you could probably run the 10 team on a shoestring budget and it wouldn't change performance. JMO of course.

The door is wide open at Stewart Haas is how I read it, not only open but early negotiations are welcome..what is your deal? I wonder if Kurt Busch will suddenly start running in the front pack, or is that all he has what he is doing now.. Kurt has half his races sold by Monster this year and will be in the playoffs, but next? Danica also, if she has a sponsor I bet she stays unless somebody comes along with big money and can win races.

Cole Custer has been shuffled along pretty quickly, from out of the trucks to Xfinity. He's better than airplane boy in Xfinity, but he isn't that much better IMO.But daddy is a big wig at Stewart Haas. IDK maybe he will get better with more experience. 1 full year in trucks and he came in 10th, now right into Xfinity the next year running 7th. That is awful fast.

Read the bolded red and black bits again.

I'm fascinated by the ability of some people to read between the lines and to inform us all of the reality of remarks by people like Gene Haas and Carl Edwards.

Thank you for your insight as it is valued and appreciated.

It would really be surprising to me if Kurt lost his ride at SHR. I have no idea where he would end up. Maybe RCR if Paul leaves, I really have no idea.

I have a new respect for Gene Haas. A new F1 car owner and he is scoring points. He knows what is needed to turn a dollar and I think he will be just fine
with 4 teams in Nascar. Just don't know who the drivers will be.

Gene really got on a roll after being released from Club Fed so if he wants 4 teams that is what he will have.

Happy because, basically of SOI's post. I was extremely bummed as I rerally thought there was 0 chance of her coming back, now at least I have hope. IMHO, one win, or top 5 and the magic happens for sure, otherwise its a crapshoot. Since Kansas, she has done quite a bit better

Kasey Kahne to the #10.

I actually think he can win there.

The 5 team took on the joker role once the 25 became the 88. It has always been the guinea pig car.

Kahne used to be a solid, 1 win at least a year driver and has now become this midfielder. Mystifying stuff.

The change of scenary alone will do him wonders. Let along cars that can actually compete. (Sorry Danica but you're not getting the 10's car potential.)

no. just no. This is DP10's year. She will succeed
I will say this... she has done better lately if anyone was really looking, however woulda coulda shoulda stepped in and she was in the right places at the wrong time in certain races. The Michigan wreck was just a bummer for her... she easily could have had top 10 there. I think her Sonoma result could have been better if not for some events in that one... but the only thing is in cup series, results usually seal drivers fates... hope it's not too late for her to turn her NASCAR direction around.

^^^^^^^^^^ good post

Also, sonoma is a technical track...this woman can wheel a freaking car

In reading that story, her stats are pretty dismal. She has only finished on the lead lap in about 1/3 of the races she's been in and no top 5 finishes.

Imagine that. Interesting.

What I read is Haas isn't in it too take a huge nosedive, but if he can put all the pieces together and come close to or a bit above breaking even he is good, making money at it even better. I'm guessing the same thing with Danica or Kurt. If there are enough pieces to put together and make a season, he's good. But he also left the door open for other possibilities and I bet if the money isn't there Danica would be on the hot seat if another good driver prospect came along. But the bottom line sounds like he is going to continue to run four cars and 4 drivers what ever happens.

^We will always disagree about this. I respect your opinion, however. I hope we have a chance to see her in the winners circle

With DP you got what you got and that is a driver that will finish on the lead lap around 12 times a year and will peak into the top 10 once in a great while. However if she can secure another sponsor like GoDaddy she can race until she is 75 and have no worries. If she can't pull in a big name sponsor that will pay the bills and more it is not worth having her as the driver of your car.

I want her in the firesuit and her name on the trophy

I wanna be 6 feet tall and bulletproof and to be able to say whatever I want whenever I want and however I want on the forum but that ain't happening either......:D
