So throughout my life growing up I wanted to be a racecar driver. I'm happy to say it took 30 years of waiting but I finally have my motorsports vehicle. I plan to run a tuff truck at Buck Motorsports Park in 2022.

Got our rules and 2022 track schedule today. Exciting change from the past instead of single runs its 2 trucks head to head and you get to run multiple rounds. Time to get working on the truck here soon.

I've known the tuff truck dates for a few weeks now but finally know what we are paired with each race night. Lots of monster trucks and mud bogs in my future. We think we are the 2wd class, but need to go over the truck to be sure...I own it but have only seen it in the dark lol. 5-6 events depending on class. Full Buck schedule if anyone cares. https://www.buckmotorsports.com/schedule

The Buck seems pretty legit as far as 4x4 stuff goes. I believe it just got bought by the Stinger Monster Truck team

Finally saw my truck in person in the daylight. Found the title too it's an '02 Ram 1500 2wd.

Next is building the roll cage, and welding on a new bumper

Truck is almost done, despite several small welding related fires and me relaxing in my driver's seat lounge chair while my brother in law was working on something with the welder. Hope to be finished Friday to make our first race next Saturday night.

Well I had fun. I drew the points leader and eventual winner in round 1. I sent it. I didn't realize until I watched the video that I would of been DQed cause I crossed up part of the course. But anyway I'd been sending it and hit the last jump and when I hit it broke the left front strut, when that went it knocked the ball joint out. So I pulled back to the trailer with the left front leaning at a 45 degree angle. It's fixable, hopefully just need a new strut, the part around the ball joint and TBD on a new brake line because it felt weird but I don't know if it lost pressure or because the wheel wasn't straight. Not sure if I'll be able to go in a couple weeks or not but I loved it.

So is it just a small oval track with jumps? I can't tell what's at the other end so was just wondering.

There's a mud bog in the middle for the other event tonight. So excuse my poorly drawn phone map of the track. So the blue lines are start and finish. Black spots tractor tires. I started on the side on the left, I go down and go around the outside of the tractor tire. Down the straight on the right. Make a full circle around the top tractor tire. Come back down the straight and go to the inside of the tractor tire and then up the right straight again to the finish. The other guy starts and comes down the inside of the tractor tire first, and does the outside last. My mistake was when we met to go around the top tire I went back the way I came and didn't make the full loop. So I went the wrong way...but so did he I think I'll post the video here soon.

That looks like a really fun time. The tire you both go around near the starting area looks like it is a good spot for a head on collision lol.
Lol they said in the drivers meeting they are trying to make this track work. This is the first year they have run head to head instead of single against the clock. I had already left by the time the 4x4s came out to do theirs my wife told me they changed the track up a bit for them so you wouldn't be that close. I think that's what made me forget to go around the whole tire when I had to break for him...plus he went the wrong way and I followed.

Finally got the parts in the fix it so hopefully be ready to go for the last race of the year in a couple weeks. I've been working on appearance stuff. Today I painted up the rough spots and got a number on the drivers side. 94 because my first favorite NASCAR driver was Bill Elliott and the McDonalds 94 and I always told myself my racing number be 94.

I was not ready for the last race of the year lol. I'm working on being ready for the first of this year. Spent Sunday teaching myself with youtube how to change a ball joint. From what I see it was the upper one that broke so it's been less of a challenge for me with no mechanic skills or training. I'm dealing with a very stubborn rusted bolt and I only have my arm power avaliable so it's currently being soaked with a lot of Wd40 to see if I can loosen her up. Should be good to go for opening night April 22nd as a teacher I have a full week off here for spring break before then to finish her up. Biggest issue is my help up and moved to Texas so a lot more of figuring stuff out on my own. I like it though makes me feel more accomplished to figure it out myself. Need to find a trailer though before I bother Uhaul a bunch.

I am sure you will use one but be sure to use jack stands.

BYW KKF-looks like a fun truck to drive. Got the Hemi?

She is finished. I got the control arm off today and the new one put on. Took her for a test drive and she is ready for opening night on the 22nd.

You need a front bumper, my man.

Leading with the radiator in close quarters on a short track will end your first day early.

Technically there is one, its off a VW. That black bar in front sticks out more than it looks. Danger of front contact is low since it's not oval track racing, it's more of an obstacle course. There's never a point I'll be right behind someone.

This is very cool, good luck in your next event and congrats on making your dream a reality! 😎

And what's one more day, we rained out for tonight but will have the rain date tomorrow
