Knockout Qualifying Debut

I thought it was about as much of a cluster**** as OP's most recent podium submission. :p

Seriously though, not just the cooling fiasco. I couldn't really keep up. It'll definitely take some getting used to and we need intervals and some sort of lap count table(minus the 15 parade laps) to help make sense of it all.

I liked it but as was mentioned on the broadcast, they should take all tape off the grill.

Doesn't matter I'm sure the usual suspects (Jimmie, Kyle, Harvick) will be up front when it matters

I liked the idea of getting several chances to qualify but it kinda gave me a headache trying to keep up with it. wish they had a better way to keep the fans up to date while the Qualifying is under way.

I've been sitting here trying to figure out what I just watched. I'm sure that with the tutorials that I'll get on here I'll figure it out.

From now on FS1 just needs to keep it live. That was stupid. I was sitting here, watching twitter thinking I'm watching qualifying live...meanwhile I'm reading all the results on Twitter.

Don't lie to me like I'm an idiot Fox....jesus.

Nascar.com wasn't any help either, their timing and scoring quit working before the first cut off and their timer wasn't even close to showing the correct the cut off time.

I guess it made qualifying shorter....which is a good thing...I think?

Does anyone know if they used qualifying set-up for this knock-out thing?

Looks like the Fords wont be as behind this year... if they can keep up on a short track I'd bet they can on a mile and a half too.

As NASCAR predicted, it will be a work in progress. The deal with the cooling definitely needs to be addressed. And FS1 needs to make some major adjustments. They need a countdown timer and need a static display of the top 12 along with a scroll of the others.
It will be interesting to watch this develop and see the differences between what we saw this week and what we'll see in a few months.

Based on one qualifying session?
Not only that lol.. they were fast all through speed weeks... they weren't last year... and now they are sittin 1-2 for the first race where handling really comes into play and theres new rules that the teams are all trying to get a jump on... it looks good so far for the Ford guys from what I've seen.

Fs1 needs help with timing and scoring and in the graphics dept.

I'm going to agree here. Ford sucked after Pre-season Thunder in terms of raw speed. Doug Yates did a hell of a job getting more horsepower. I am impressed with the Ford group.

Missed it yesterday but the final few minutes to the opening round for Nationwide were really interesting.

So I just watched NW qualifying and I think they have it figured out.. much bettet than what I saw yesterday.

Pretty neat watching someone get knocked out of the top 12...and try to get back in

Wait....all three series are doing the knock-out qualifying?
