all great points. no doubt Haas is trying to prove a point here.

may be more than "provin a point" . too many "unknowns" between :
"we can't go ta 4 teams"
an
"shr signs kurt"

big $$ corp guys like haas don't usually operate that way.
power is tha supreme reward w/ that kind a $$.

all that stuff swept under tha rug will surface eventually..........always does.

after all ....couldn't haas have slapped haas name on car when he brought tony in .......
.........if a win was that important ???? champion owner too ??

You want me to call you Mr Lester roadhog moron?

err...Ok.

from tha posts i seen.......me thinks you already have prior dibs on tha moron part. ha!
but mr lester roadhog will do fer me. .........if that pleases you.....

I think there's plenty to go around, Mr L. Roadhog.

i agree mr. roth......we all get afflicted w/ a sudden bout a' acute moronism .....at many..many times in our lives.
if we was smart.... we'd forgive them that do that.....in hopes they'd forgive us...when we do tha same. ha!

Just so y'all know . Hawg doesn't just make this stuff up , you can see Moran videos on utube.

What I'm getting after reading the news conference, is that Tony had no problems with a 4th team, he just couldn't see it happening next year. He was more into "where are we going to get the people, where are we going to find the room", etc.

Gene Haas was was just jumping at the chance when it presented itself.

I still gotta think that you at least consult with your business partner about a decision like that. Even though the sponsorship is coming from GH himself, resources will be pulled from the other three teams to accomplish this. These aren't my words, they came from Zippy. This will put an initial strain on the organization. I'd think that this is the type of thing that you'd plan for ahead of time but then again I don't have a gazillion $'s at my disposal.

@StewartHaasRcng
Ground already being cleared for SHR's physical expansion. A new building on this plot should be ready…

At least they're getting the grass mowed.

Stewart-Haas Racing is NASCAR’s new nuthouse

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Greg Zipadelli joked Monday that he is preparing a special room for driver meetings at the Stewart-Haas Racing shop next year.

After all, with three drivers who could be considered volatile at times — Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch — as well as Danica Patrick, Zipadelli expects some heated moments and difference of opinions.

As competition director, he will be in charge of a team with three drivers who haven’t always seen eye to eye and who have had their share of emotional outbursts and temper tantrums throughout their careers. Stewart, Busch and Harvick, in fact, could be considered the three most volatile drivers in the sport, with all three having had multiple run-ins with NASCAR, other drivers and the media.

Stewart even reportedly punched Busch once in the NASCAR hauler following practice at Daytona. And Harvick and Busch haven’t always been on the best of terms.

“We built a rubber room upstairs, that's the first thing we did,” Zipadelli said with a laugh.

here is tony's thinking, OK so gene your putting up 20 million out of Haas automation into SHR to fund kurt next year. BUT dude we have to expand our shop and spend other money just to have a fourth car much less run it. so the 20 million that it takes to run the car doesn't cover the expansion of the shop and other expenses. I bet this was tony's thinking. plus if your tony you want to make money off running the 4th car, or why do it. I am sure there had to be alot of conversation with tony to convince him financially this was the right thing to do, because it means one owner of the company putting in alot more money.

I do know SHR talked about wanting to build their own cars and engines one day. I wonder if this 4th car deal is going to lead to that because never has the sport seen a team of this size depend so heavily on another organization. one thing it does seem like though is the teams are running ALOT less new cars and they are using the cars they have more and more. This has to mean less costs. used to be you would never run a short track car on an intermediate track. this could be even more so now that the rules are different with the rear end housing and essentially taking the crab out of the cars there doesn't need to be even slight tweaks to the body. I think the only specific cars we see now days are restrictor plate cars and road course cars everything else can be run anywhere.

Maybe they can get a couple of those plastic garages from Walmart or Lowes to house the new team until they can build on.

one a' haas' remarks was tellin. " don't think tony was enthralled............"
"but i think he saw it my way, you know. either that or get out of the building".

if ya think tony...harv...kurt have big egos......all 3 combined don't match haas.
who's he had ta answer to once his machine biz went big bucks.......nobody.

this is gonna be a train wreck waitin ta happen. fer all concerned.
zippy is good....
.....but ain't a mediator out there that can continue ta soothe this bunch a' egos.....week after week.!

all this prolly goes back ta tony winnin championship. i can do wtf i want now ....i made this work.
just forgot haas still had majority rule.....as we've seen.

nuthin good comin out a' this.
by 2015....haas is gonna wish he'd stayed away.....an kurt's gonna wish he'd stayed at frr.
harv---he/wife have big khi marketin company goin....mma...etc
tony---who knows w/ him . ha!

media's gonna luv 2014 !

Take away Tony Stewart and Haas\CNC is just another mid-pack outfit that gets lucky once in a while. They are pretty much a non-factor without him.

Haas seems to be gambling on Kurt Busch repeating what he did at Furniture Row (or Tony Stewart's arrival in 2009). To be fair Kurt has run ahead of the entire SHR outfit in the points this year...

Newman: Stewart-Haas situation 'humorous'

Ryan Newman said he found out about Stewart-Haas Racing’s expansion to four teams like most people -- first rumors and non-sourced reports on the Internet that were ultimately confirmed by Tuesday’s formal announcement.

But Newman, who was informed last month his contract won’t be renewed by SHR for 2014, said Thursday he was mostly amused at this week’s turn of events, particularly at the way it was handled with the team internally.

SHR co-owner Gene Haas told reporters Tuesday that he hired Kurt Busch for a fourth car to be sponsored by his company, Haas Automation. But Haas conceded it was -- at least initially -- met with surprise and “a little bit of resistance” from his fellow co-owner, Tony Stewart, who was concerned about the logistics of adding another team and the extra workload that would entail to be immediately competitive.

“It was humorous,’’ Newman told NASCAR.com about the announcement. “To me it was more funny, than any kind of frustration from my end. In the end, it won’t affect me. Obviously, it frees up a situation for 2014 but in the end it doesn’t affect me.’’

Newman said he wasn’t privy to any discussion about the expansion beforehand.

“If they didn’t tell (Tony) Stewart why would they tell me,’’ he joked.

How could the contract Haas signed BEFORE he told Tony, his legal partner at STEWART Haas, even be legal? IMO, this is just a blame game. Gene wanted to sponsor Busch, and Tony wanted Harvick in (a teammate he's wanted for years). So they slid Newman out, moved Busch into the magically appearing 4th team, and one blames the other.

I wonder if they will publish a group dynamics paper on how it all works out.

(Tony)...'Maybe I can be a truck driver, Gene, you got the number of that truck driving school we saw on TV last night...Truck Masters I think it is....I may need that'....

That is exactly how I see it FB.....all this BS is actually just to help Tony (Smog) not look like a total ass to Newman

Haas: “After five years I just feel that I want to take hold of an opportunity that was presented to me. It gives me a chance to, you know, be a sponsor and direct things the way I wanted to direct them.”
In the meantime, Newman insists he’s ready to move forward.
“I think from that standpoint, it’s even clearer to me I wouldn’t want to be there if that’s the path they want to do down,’’ Newman said. “Take Kurt out of it. It makes no sense whatsoever.
“All of Gene’s comments don’t make any sense to me in reference to anything I did, have done, sponsorship-wise, winning races.
“There’s no logical explanation for it and I think 99 out of 100 people would say the same thing if they were being honest.’’

Well, it worked. Haas is the bad guy.

If both Newman and Kurt miss the Chase (however unlikely that is), do you think Haas would consider canning Newman before the end of the season and bringing Kurt in early? Those sound like fighting words from Ryan.

Nope. Kurt won't walk early unless the 2 teams want it that way. No way Haas cans Tony's friend early.

Wow good for Kurt. Hahahaha gotta suck for Newman to be ditched like that though. And lol at Haas's antics. I guess that's what happens when you are away for a while ;)
