Kyle Busch suspended for both Nationwide and Cup races this weekend

M&M's issued one of those lame "We expressed our concern.." statements on facebook.

IMO, M&M needs to remove sponsorship for Kyle's last 2 Cup races, and JGR should refund M&M's for those 2 races and agree to not run a sponsor for those 2 races to keep M&M's on board next year. Anyone willing to sponsor a guy who trashes a championship competition will always be associated with that kind of behavior. When this happens in the future, people will say "He got M&M'ed". Driving around in an unsponsored car is what it will take to FINALLY bring about a TRUE 'new Kyle Busch' and help this guy achieve the greatness in Cup his talent cries for.

I've seen a lot of stupidity in racing (especially NASCAR) but this has to take the cake.

Of course NASCAR made their decision based previous history - and they should. Kyle's an ass.

Mark my words, because of his inability to control his anger someday he's going to do something REALLY stupid off track and get hauled off to jail.

As long as a innocent party doesn't get hurt, one can only hope....

He trashed 3 championships actually....Hornadays....KBM owner championship in the truck series...His OWN chance at the Sprint Cup Championship....."Holy Roller" Joe Gibbs has his reputation on the line here....we will see his true colors soon....He and his sponsors need to sent Kyle an additional measage....Son....your PARKED till Feb.........Unfortunately Joe's all about the $$$$$ more than the holy roller persona....imo...

128mph in a 45 zone.....and he never went to jail....anyone other than a NASCRAP driver in that county would have been cuffed and hauled off to jail/court/bond hearing.......

have you considered that maybe nascar, joe gibbs racing, the sponsors, and the fans might be right and the kyle was wrong?

this is racing, not last man standing demolition derby.

I am not disputing the wrong or rightness of anything. That's all consideration anyhow.

So I got a question. Since Busch's car did (is) running this weekend (just not with Busch inside of it), does that mean he still gets the points after the race, or do the points go towards the driver that's in the car?

You have to start the race to recieve the points....

I have to say, it's going to be a pleasure watching the race today, without having to stomach a KB progress update every 41 seconds......
I wonder if we'll have to see the nascar superstore commercial with him every 6 minutes??
MoMike

You're going to have to hear about how he got parked every 10mins though :p

Joe Gibbs sure seems to be taking this hard.

we as fans can jump on here, and elsewhere, and voice all kinds of our opinions. doesn't cost us a thing.

joe gibbs, kyle, the sponsors, nascar, etc. have multi-millions at stake. they all have to look at this and figure out where they go from here.

My boss asked me to share this: The recent actions by Kyle Busch are not consistent with the values of M&M'S and we're very disappointed. Like you, we hold those who represent our brand to a higher standard and we have expressed our concerns directly to Joe Gibbs Racing.

A little Busch fallout.....

Busch Dropped From M&Ms Website

Kyle Busch's future with Joe Gibbs Racing remains in doubt today, but the unhappiness felt by sponsor M&M'S is readily apparent.

Following Busch's Friday night Camping World Truck Series incident with driver Ron Hornaday, Jr., M&MS' parent company, Mars, posted a statement on the brand's Facebook page saying, "The recent actions by Kyle Busch are not consistent with the values of M&M'S and we're very disappointed. Like you, we hold those who represent our brand to a higher standard and we have expressed our concerns directly to Joe Gibbs Racing."

Monday morning, M&Ms removed Busch's name and photo from their website's "Meet The Crew" page. Crew chief Dave Rogers' profile remains, as do those of over-the-wall crew members Jake Seminara, Kenny Barner, Brad Donaghy, Jeff Fender, Tom Lampe and Nick Odell.

Mars is a conservative company with a youth-oriented demographic, and multiple sources close to the situation say the company insisted on a clause in their conduct with JGR allowing them to terminate their sponsorship if the embattled driver acts in a manner they consider damaging to the brand.

Team owner Joe Gibbs made it clear Saturday that Busch's latest outburst has created a rift with the team's sponsors. He said team officials are "trying to meet with everybody that was affected by this. Obviously, we’ve got a lot of work to do and a lot of people to see, but we’re going to be trying to go through this and handle everything in the right way.”

Gibbs is not the first team owner forced to pacify a sponsor unhappy with Busch's behavior. The driver's 2007 departure from Hendrick Motorsports is widely believed to have come at the request of then-sponsor Kellogg's, after the cereal giant grew tired of repeated bad publicity generated by Busch.

Gibbs called this newest controversy "a tough situation for us,” saying that he will once again attempt to deal fairly with Busch, sponsors and team members. “(With) other things that have happened in the past, we’ve tried to handle those things the right way," said Gibbs. "Certainly, that’s what we’re going to try to do with this.”

Ouch! I guess the phrase "There is no such thing as bad publicity" doesn't hold true for Kyle Busch. Apparently sponsors do have a limit. I'd imagine it's going to be very hard for Joe Gibbs or Busch to find a sponsor for the 2012 season.

I'm not sure what he has to lose at this point. Championship hopes a gone. No ride for next year.....

Hmmm, pay back time for Hornaday at Phoenix? Of course what would be the point? Busch is out of contention for the cup this year. There's really nothing to be gain except for the purpose of being spiteful.

And there's this.....

Just announced by Turner Motorsports: Ron Hornaday in the #32 car in Phoenix. :D

I fully expect to hear from KHI and RCR that they will be pitching in an over the wall crew, a special engine, some fully "prepped" tires and a specially designed front bumper for the #32 car ;)

Remember when they used to place "Bounty's" on drivers.

Exactly how does a candy have "values"?

I hope not, that means he would have to be parked also.

Agreed, there's really nothing that can be gained from wrecking Busch. However, there IS something to be gained from finishing at a higher position than Busch.

It sure would spice up the last 2 races. What if Ron wrecks Kyle, the nascar gives Ron just a 1 lap penalty to send a message.

If Ron was smart, he would wait until next year when it actually means something. Do it to keep Kyle from making the chase, or when he has a chance to win the championship. Kyle cost him the championship in '08, and possibly this year too.
