Kyle Bush

Stop throwing Kyle under the Bus! It was a racing deal, thats it. SR. did the same thing every week and everyone loved him for it. Im sick of this double standard everyong has towards Busch.

If Jr. would have given him room then it wouldnt have happened.

The opinion Kurt Busch being the better driver was formed after observing him since he began racing in the Craftsman Truck Series.

I am not confused about this assessment and I hope this clears up any misunderstandings.

The action between Earnhardt and Busch was a racing incident and nothing more.

Many times people assess blame of racing incidents based on emotion, especially "newbies" to the sport.

That statement is not intended to offend but is a simple fact of life.
The serious race fan could possibly lose the emotional aspect with the passage of time.

Since the wife and I were at the local track last night, we recorded the race and watched it this morning. Of the incident twixt Kyle and Jr., my opinion is that the two of them were going for the win and at the end of a race, drivers just don't give an inch. This was a racing incident, but because it happened to the two drivers that have one of them being the most popular in the series and the other becoming a very disliked one but the hottest driver of the year, of course blame will be placed, as Whizzer said, emotionally. As a race fan, this is what I'm watching the races for, not that they wreck, but drivers hang it on the edge and go for it all. Sometimes they cross the line of the edge and it becomes disastrous, but it isn't like it never happens.

IMO kyle is not the best driver in NASCAR, he is one of the best, I'll give him top 5. Now if he would quit drivng his car into the ground I'll give him top 3 and no I don't think jr. is the best. IMO it might of been a racin deal but it could of been handeled differently, I bet jr. will race him differently now.

On purpose or not, Kyle Busch was far from popular at the end of that race.

Jr. showed some real class on the interview on victory lane and leave it to bob dillhole to try to start some stuff, he started that bogus report about kevin harvick and now he's puttin words in jr's mouth.
Kyle's interview he handled it pretty much like friday night a prick.

"Racing deals" are one thing, but when they involve one driver on a weekly basis people are going to start noticing. Saying that you're willing to "..wreck as many cars as necessary" doesn't help your cause either.

"...It's just great racing, and Kyle and these guys, what they are doing is putting on a show," Childress said. "People shouldn't be upset, because that's what they pay their money for, is to see a great race..."

Fans got what they wanted. You go to Richmond, you better expect action.

I was upset for Denny and Dale, but it sure as hell was a fantastic race.

Props to The Blue Angels as well. That was absolutely breathtaking. :salute:

I can honestly say that I really don't like David Poole, but this sentence sums it up pretty well:

Remember last year, when Jeff Burton didn't wreck Busch as they battled door to door for a win at Bristol? Remember how some fans questioned why Burton wasn't willing to do what he had to do to win?

And I'm sure some members of this board were among those questioning Burton's lack of desire and wondering why he didn't use his bumper. And many of the same people say Mark martin needs to use the bumber more often. Yet somehow, when Dale Jr loses a win because of someone else's bumber, all hell breaks lose. The word "hypocritical" comes to mind.

And I still say it was a racing deal. Two guys going as hard as they can with just a few laps left, each hoping that it'll stick. That what you do in a big race...try to win.

but see that is where the difference is for me. If this was the first time that busch did something like this this year i would have laughed and called it awesome racing. but since he has done it numerous times this year already its kind of a what the hell thing.

Ding Ding DING!!!!! You've hit on exactly why Kyle is taking the crap he is about this when it very well WAS a racing deal. People already don't like him and he's been wreckless. Whether it was his fault or not, taking out the most popular driver sure as hell is going to bring the wrath of Junior fans because we have indeed seen him drive and act like a "yahoo" on the track. I haven't liked him because of his wreckless driving in all the series AND because he acts like a jerk a lot. He is a "hot" driver right now, but unless he settles down A LOT, he's just going to get more and more wrath heaped on him.

I have to admit I've been chuckling a bit about the fact he's going to take way more boos on the track and Jeff may just catch a break and not be booed so much since he's JR's teammate. LOL :D

As DW likes to say, it takes alot of Give and take. When you hit 50 to go, it's less give, more take. At 10 to go, theres no give and all take.

What do we expect when there's 200% being taken and 0.000% being given?

A pair of cars needing some sheet metal.

If it had been Derrike Cope that Kyle tangled with, this thread wouldn't exist.
I've reviewed the incident several times from all angles and I can honestly say that it did not look intentional on either drivers part.
Maybe y'all haven't been out to the local short track in a while but I can assure you the cars do actually come in contact with one another.
If it had been Kyle that spun and Jr. going on to contend for the win, the masses would be praising Jr.'s prowess.

If big E was still around, and junior raced for him, and kyle pulled that crap on junior....

kyle wouldnt have a race or street car to take home.

Just how in the world can you say that?? Dale Sr. became an Icon doing EXACTLY what Kyle did, race as hard as you can for the win, just as Jr. was doing!!! Jr. moved down a bout a half a lane, understandable, to try to protect his position and Kyle pitched it in there hoping it would stick. And you know the outcome. No one in NASCAR, in my opinion, has any better car control then Kyle. He's exciting to watch and dare I say this, he was compared to Dale Sr. on Windtunnel to night favorably. JMO Duane:beerbang:

I am some what surprised that your opinion that Kyle Busch is the best driver in all of NASCAR would be based partially or wholly on his results in the third tier series . I may have gone a long with the racing incident senario had this not been a pretty much a regular problem for Kyle Busch which i think was high lighted when he torpedoed Johnny Benson in the last CTS race . racing incidents happen occassionally but Ernie Irvin type driving always seems to end in a brain injury one way or another. My only emotion in NASCAR is generated by how fast you can go with out hitting things or people nothing more and nothing less . I do understand what you mean about newbies to the sport judging drivers by emotion since i really disliked DW when he first came into the sport just because he was mouthy.

I disagree.....how can you say he has the best car control in nascar when he's pulled this off numerous times? if he had the best car control he wouldnt have gotten loose.

Kyle does this crap every race, whether it's intentional or not. If him showing off his car control means 5-6 other cars have to be wrecked, I'm not for it.

anybody hear how he did at that madison race yesterday?

I agree Kyle Busch has displayed what might be conceived by many as poor car control but I see it as a driver with superior talent who consistently is driving on the edge, just as any driver worth his salt should do.
A driver taking it to the limit, whether first or last, is bound to go over the edge.

Kyle being involved in other incidents has nothing to do with this situation as the mission of both drivers was to go for the win and my guess is, JGR would have been more than displeased had Kyle backed off and given Dale the win. As it turned out, both were going for the win with three laps to go which is what racing is all about.

As for the comment re: emotion, "I do understand what you mean about newbies to the sport judging drivers by emotion since i really disliked DW when he first came into the sport just because he was mouthy".

Truly a comment that encapsulates and exemplifies my point. :)

Whizzer, isn't it foolish to overdrive a corner and wash up, wrecking another car?

That mouthy snyde pompous little remark Kyle made about wrecking as many cars possible to make a point just solidified all the disrespect I had towards him.

With 3 laps to go, you go in as hard as you can, which both of them did. I wouldn't expect any less from any driver.

That being said, Last night I saw (and replayed numerous times) the in-car view from Bowyer going into three. From that view, Jr pretty clearly came down more-so than KB went up. If you look at the line Jr was driving much of the race, he was going in mid-track, drifting up, and shooting out of the turn. It was working pretty well for him. But in this instance, KB was in the spot Jr wanted, and he needed to stay up higher than he did.

I say again: Racing deal.

There not going to believe ya VADIRT, the fans need a driver to hate and Kyle seems to fill the bill. I said for a long time that no one drove a car looser then Biffle untill Kyle came around. Kyle is going to be punkish for a while, he's young and brash and good and he knows it, he'll become humble soon enough, but in the meantime, I enjoy the fire. I guess these other guys would rather watch Kyle Petty's style. Really nice guy but about as exciting as Jello. Duane

I know, I know. I count myself as one of the millions that wanted to see Jr win that race, but I still just don't see where it was 100% Busch's fault. I'm like you though, the fire's fun to watch. Young, brash, ****y and on the edge. Makes the races more interesting, and adds some umph to post race (and post wreck) interviews.

For an example of his great car control, look no farther than last week at Talledega. MacMurray plowed into his right rear quarter panel coming out of the tri-oval. Had the 26 hit 99% of the other drivers like that at that angle, it woulda been the big one.

I'd have no problem with Kyle if his "driving style" didn't cost other teams thousands of dollars to fix.

Damn Andy, get over it. Who cares if it costs the other teams money. It sounds like your the one having to pay for it.

As far as the race goes Kyle did what he should have done and what he is paid for. Win the race. Who cares if he took out Jr. Did any of you really think he would not do that in that situation?

Actually there are a lot of fans that do not like it when drivers take out other drivers or cause more wrecks than they should (intenational or not).

Point of the matter is, Kyle doesnt have to pay for the cars nor does he have to repair what he wrecks. I dont have a lot of respect for people that do stuff like that, all he is doing is creating more work for other people.

I told my girlfriend before the restart "Watch Bush is going to wreck him."

And when someone else wrecks Kyle, Kyle is :( and  about it.

So, you like Kyle Busch because he wrecks people for the win. Okay.

From nbc15 in Madison

Madison International Speedway attracting the likes of Kyle Busch on Sunday for the ECHO Chainsaw 100, but Busch only able to take 3rd. Dan Fredrickson of Elko, MN the big winner. Matt Kenseth's son Ross finished 5th in his race.

I am surprised Shrub didnt wreck the two guys in front of him @ Madison

Damn Andy, get over it. Who cares if it costs the other teams money.

Actually, a lot of fans, drivers and teams do.

One of Bobby Labonte's crew members was at the Sprint Fanzone talking about Busch's remark about wrecking as many cars as he needs to. He said he was extremely pissed because that's creating more problems for other people.

I doubt there are many fans, drivers or crew members who respect Kyle anymore.

You haven't been on a dirt track race team, i take it.

Nobody cared when Lil'E took out Edwards in the Michigan '06 Busch race. He hit him from behind on the G/W/C to take the lead.

(Man you have to look a long ways back to even find a race Lil'E won. If not for his last name he wouldn't even be an aftethought in the annals of Nascar. And, its easy to see that most fans wouldn't give two craps about him. I guess the last name is everything).

I dont care what you say bp...I know your have a dire hatred for him..I swear the guy must have pissed on your tires or something.

Jr still has more wins than most of the other drivers that compete every sunday.

Lets not forget he's sitting 3rd in points and if he hadnt been dumped by KY saturday he'd be sitting in 2nd.

Guess because you dont like him he shouldnt be racing in the cup series....isnt that right?
