Drive at the end reminded of Indy race last year. Larson is just one of those all-time drivers who you hate to see in your mirror.

Were you not entertained? A bonus point was meaningless to the fans who enjoyed it and I bet that was a whole bunch. ;)
I don’t doubt the fans were entertained. I only dispute the statement that Larson and the team got back out there and ran wide open 'just to entertain the fans'. The goal was getting the point; any entertainment provided was a side effect. I'm not criticizing Larson in any way; I'm criticizing poor writing that falsely portrays what happened.

So you are saying he was lying to Larson fans about putting on a show for the fans? Looked like a show to me.

No, I'm saying he was mistaken (NOT lying) about why Larson was out there. Go back and look at the quotes in the race discussion. Someone quoted the team radio traffic saying they were going back out to get the 'fastest lap' bonus point. Nobody on the team said 'Hey, let's bust ass fixing this car and go run qualifying laps halfway around the track from the leaders to show what we can do.' The fans got a good look but that was never why he went out there.

We went for a picnic yesterday. A truck loaded with building supplies pulled up across the street, deployed its forklift, unloaded material for about ten minutes, secured the lift, and rolled on. We were entertained although I'm sure that wasn't any part of the driver's considerations.
