Kyle Larson

Well not just because of today but he really caught my interest. Kyle bush has been dominating-in nationwide . For Larson to beat him and other cup drivers show that he has something going for him. Look at the moves he made on the track today, some were amazing that he got through but he held on and made it. Even when he is racing in cup he is beating a lot of good drivers. I still say in a few years when he gets more talent he will be on podium at end of year.

Other than getting wiped out by Dillon at Daytona he's finished every race this year.
i'm going by running up top a lot, and he's hit the wall a few times, i just think of another kasey when i watch him. i also said i think he's a good driver, i think they both run the same kind of race, won't rattle the cage type.

Of course I do... but from what I've seen he's not there. Getting there... but I do think Chase will do better faster... In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Chase Elliot won a cup race before Kyle Larson. He had one great run.. and some top 10's.. but top 10 is light years away from 1st... and he's not even a regular there really yet. He's good, yes... but I think most give him too much credit.
5 top-10s in the last 7 starts. I think that counts as pretty regular.

I just hope he doesn't ride in BOTH series for the next five years. If so, he'll lose my respect pretty quickly. But since he's not Kyle Busch, he'll probably be admired for dominating the Nationwide series for the next 5+ years while also being a full time sprint cup driver.

I can say I like his guts...he'll run a car in deep in a corner and keep his foot in the gas. I just hope he doesnt start reading his own press.

I agree. I think/hope he can keep it together though. He seems to have himself pretty collected so far.
Speaking of that, how about Chase? He really impresses me. He's 19 and is so calm and collected, respectful and well spoken. I don't think he'll have any problems either.

Both these guys are the future of the sport.

It's funny to me that Larson has shown more potential and skill in the year and a half he's been racing in nascar's upper divisions than the 'great' Joey Logano ever did in the same amount of time, yet the Logano zealot acts like Larson is nothing special.

Are you saying larson > Logo?

Potential doesnt win races. I think I should know that better than most. :D

He's a Cup rookie. Is it too much to ask to give him a year before you start shrugging your shoulders?

Then again in the NW series where Larson has a full year under his belt, in the 2 races Logano ran this year, head to head with Larson, Larson has a better average finish than Logano. lol
Oh no! He has a better average finish in the nationwide series?! Awww maan... shucks!

Lol Even I thought of mentioning the Nationwide series but didn't because its pointless but since you want to bring that into the mix... how did Joey start his career in the nationwide series compared to Larson?

Better yet... what does Joey have to do with my opinion of Larson?

But this is just the start. Several drivers have great starts and fade away real quick. However at the moment I don't believe tht will happen to Larson.

Still wondering how this became about Joey? I can't have an opinion? Because I don't agree with everyone it somehow has something to do with Joey? Lol

Because you're a Joey fan and people think Kyle will be better.. I don't really know.. Larson has a ton of skill but he isn't at a top team so I feel like the results will be a tad lower..I hope he and chase eventually replace JJ and Gordon.

It really has nothing to do with Joey. I hope the kid does great.. I expect him and Chase Elliot to be driving the 24 and 48 eventually but who knows.

I know that but you're the Joey fan and Kyle is precieved as the next big star.. I mean he's been hyped as such.. probably just a little less then Joey was.

I get it... but it makes no difference to me.. really... Joey's fine. I hope Kyle does just as good as everyone thinks so that he and Joey can race for years. I want there to be better drivers on the track. To be the best, you have to beat the best.

if i'm not mistaken in jimmie johnson's first full year in nationwide series he didn't even qualify for 1 race, and we all know how that worked out.
