Las Vegas RACE thread

Really nice to see JGR back in victory lane with the #20.

Good solid top 35 place finish for Danica Patrick.

When it's easy for the fastest car to pass, they drive away from the field...it's a dominant performance and everyone complains. NASCAR really can't win and I think they're willing to accept that.
Problem is they ask for feedback on the new cars so they can make improvements and then hand out penalties for any feed back they don't like. Only feedback they want to hear is how wonderful these cars are.

I wonder how many people Danica fooled with her top ten at Daytona. Certainly not myself!

Oh I admit it...I would probably complain if that were the case too. Personally I always liked the old Darlington races where the track ate up the tires and cars could pass half the field if they pitted off-cycle and got four.

That's the only answer right there. Softer tires. These damn cars are so heavy, they would have to slow them to 175 to put real race tires on them. They need a larger tire.

Or someone can not take tires to get out front and shock the world with an epic win..(regan smith)
I miss tire wear..

Was not aware he was even a fan.

Mrs. Brown you have a lovely daughter!

Haha...criticize the air...blame it on Global Climate Change.

It was pretty funny how he listed all the other things that make the car air dependant first. Cooling the car. Burning gas. Me breathing. Then he goes into the aero dependance for grip. Makes it real hard for nascar to say anything about it.

Kyle Busch: I was fast out front, but wrecking loose in second.
Carl: I better not say anything because Kasey could pass.

These guys don't like the car so far, but are holding out hope.

Wish I had seen the interview.

nascom usually edits the sheet out of them afterward. I'm listening to him and rolling my eyes until he got to the real point. I'll tell you this, he hates how the new car races.

31 green-flag passes for the lead today, most ever at @LVMotorSpeedway. Overall, number of green-flag passes today almost double from 2012

It did seem a little better than usual.

We have tires that don't wear and extremely loose racecars.. Softer tires?????

Soft tires aren't possible with the heavy car and this tire spec. If it were, the CoT would have had them.

Isn't this car lighter? I may be wrong but I don't remember tires holding onto their grip for this long in years past. I know they built a new tire for this car.. I dunno

the whole CoT era was track position and tires that don't fall off. This car is just 150 lbs lighter, but nascar enlarged the spoiler so they get thru the turns faster. Goodyear is having a tought time building a racey tire that doesn't blow up or fall apart.

Yeah true. Can't believe they can't find some sort of middle ground.. Guess we gotta be patient!

If you were Goodyear , would you prefer to supply a tire that was going to wear out or a tire that was going to last? That's "if you were Goodyear ".

Awesome race live. Matt Kenseth kicked Chevrolet ass on old tires!
I think Fennig is really good for Carl. It was nice to see Carl drive past the 48.
Both of my drivers in the top 5 = good race weekend. There's a couple of wrecks on the 15 so we're gonna sit here and grill until the traffic clears.
Great weekend!

If I'm Goodyear I love this.. "our tires last forever and so can yours!"

There is a wreck on I15 south about 45 minutes ago. they have closed the highway, last I heard until they get it cleaned up

Turns out the wreck was a fatal. Volkswagen vs. semi never ends well. I guess the girl crossed over and head-on'd the semi.

At last, a points system where Junior can dominate.
