the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on FOX averaged a 4.4/10 on Sunday, March 10, 2013 for the Kobalt Tools 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway. While yesterday's rating is off 2/10th's from last year's 4.6/10 for the same race, it still managed to rank as the highest-rated event of the weekend among the metered markets. This marks the third straight week in which NASCAR on FOX was the #1 event of its respective weekend. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing on FOX is averaging a 6.6/14 among the metered markets. That's up +14% over last year's season-to-date average of a 5.8/11.(3-11-2013)

NASCAR usually gets decent ratings until football season starts, then they fall off a cliff. Unfortunately that co-incides with the Chase. I looked at the 2012 TV rating posted on Jayski awhile back, I can't remember the exact numbers, but the pre-NFL ratings averaged like a 6.6, then dropped down in the 4's once football season started. Even with that being the case however, ESPN is still happy with their Chase race schedule because anything other than NASCAR would probably get slaughtered much worse.the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on FOX averaged a 4.4/10 on Sunday, March 10, 2013 for the Kobalt Tools 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Here on the east coast, at least the MD VA area we had our first 60 degree day of the year. I made sure to take advantage of it and I'm sure many other people did the same. That's not good at all. All the buzz from Danica getting the pole at Daytona is gone, and the Gen 6 car is a dud.
I think that one was the last one. For now anyhow. Who knows, Bruton himself my fly something over Bristol this week?Didn't SpeedPagan say there wouldn't be any more flyovers?
But...real NASCAR fans stick around.
Hell, how did we make it through the COT era?
