Las Vegas South Point 400 (Pre-Race)

Here is the bottom of larger Gluck's pole that is old enough (2016, 2017) to cover both packages. I don't know about blade runner, but what I said is that it is the high speed tracks as a rule get the lower numbers no matter what they run. And as you can see, that is pretty much the case. There is one short track in this survey

Here is his entire list.

As you can see, there are a few 2020 races with the 750/short spoiler package near the top of a 5 year long poll. Gotta dig pretty good to find a consistent pattern of 2020 550hp races that are rated highly.

1.5’s don’t make the best racing usually at all. What I’m saying and the list shows is that with the low downforce of 2017-2018 they were absolutely despised.

550 HP isn’t ideal or badass, but the racing on 1.5 and 2 mile tracks got so bad with the low downforce package that people didn’t want to watch. Sucks but ultimately if you don’t get these things off the ground and create somewhat of a draft down the straights, you’re not going to have very competitive racing on a large track with little lap traffic

Forecast is 100/73 and Sunny through the weekend. 0% chance of rain. Vegas in September baby

I really would like qualifying again... i really dont think theres any concern with doing it. The whole pit crew can stay in “safe” locations and heck, the driver can just drive the car out of garage or trailer location... and maybe the crew chief or whoever might go along to the pit wall area if needed...

its too easy to do it if someone wanted too...

with kevin ‘Puttin the shoes to the field’ this season Im going to end up reminding myself that he also was awarded great starting positions many times

Kevins an amazing driver, but man I guess I kinda expect him to win anymore when he’s starting so well

Teams have long since revised their financial forecasts to reflect all cost savings associated with a spare car at each event.

I think Kevin's average starting position would have been much better than what he was getting from the random draw. Now that it's based on performance, he probably has an advantage.

Well, somebody's got to say it before they start babbling about it during the pre-race show.

Will we see Kyle Busch win his first race of the season at Las Vegas, his home town track . . . :idunno:

You'd be a fool to say it's not possible.

Come on HMS teams 9 and 88 it is time for round 2. Lets bring our A- game.:bazooka:

May be BIG #10 tonight

He has to be the pick. Don't know what to expect from MY Toyotas....crap track for us. Maybe MTJ....Denny needs to get his **** in order, and have a good run. Weird Sunday night start, but I am loving chilling on a Sunday leading up to the culminating event of my weekend. Weird and different, but pretty cool too.

The betting odds posted by the South Point sportsbook look slightly crazy to me. I have a hard time seeing B Kez, Logano, and Truex all favored over Harvick and Hamlin. That's proof that I don't know jack about picking winners... but players of the NASCAR Pick 'Em game already knew that. I wonder how @dirtfan has this race handicapped. That would be worth knowing...

This is a place and package where any playoff driver can steal a win, much like Texas. Give me the dice and let me roll on those 5 driver's.
