Instead of showcasing the awesome racing at this track, immediately jump to wrecks.

So corny. I wonder how Larry Mac actually feels about filming these pieces. He does a good job in terms of getting into them and showing enthusiasm, but sheesh lol.

One word, STUPID.
And they wonder why attendance and TV viewership is down.

“NASCAR Racing is so cool y’all, I can’t wait to tell everyone I know...” said no one after seeing that.

Jebus. Only made it about 1/2 way thru. They have lost their way.
You got farther than I did. He lost me at "I wanna show you two wrecks...". I'm with COW on this one. People have posted several great finishes and battles over in the main Dover thread. It doesn't matter what gimmick Fox uses to present this; they're still just tossing some red meat.

Just another example of NASCAR broadcasters insulting the intelligence of their viewers. Larry’s talking like the guy from Blue’s Clues

lol. Its part of Dover and why its called "the Monster mile". Its just coverage to fill space until sunday and I'm sure they are covering much more then that.

This topic made me realize that anyone who has ever approached me about something NASCAR related has always said “hey did you see that wreck Sunday?”...

Made me see that in 25+ years no one has ever been like “hey did you see that great racing?!”

Really? More often then not we talk about the race on Monday not the wreck unless it was a bad one.

Yeah my one buddy who’s equally involved in this stuff like myself... we debrief the races usually. But anyone else who i know watches but they’re not on the die hard level only wants to talk about whatever crash that happened. Half the time I don’t recall a few of them cause I’m more excited about a close race down the the finish.

I get the thought most people could see an exciting finish and not even realize what they just saw. Seems NASCAR Racing is background noise for some...

Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with this? Like does no one here like fun? Everything doesn't have to be so serious all the time..

Do any other professional sports present the product like they are selling it to four year olds?

People bitch about declining viewership and this is what the people who own the broadcasting rights portray the sport as... boogity.

Then people also complain when people are boring and vanilla lol. Can't please NASCAR fans.

How was that not boring? Or vanilla? It looks like Larry and NASCAR just did a cameo on teletubbies.

Back to the boogity because I’m on that trip now, I wonder how many people channel surf and hear that garbage as the green flag drops and go “yeah, not today”.

It's showing personality and showing stuff isn't serious. But I guess like I said. Can't please NASCAR fans. Have a good day.

It’s extremely cheesy. Was it Race Hub though? That would explain it. They aren’t really super high on insightful analysis on that show anyways..

Jeff Gluck had some really great comments about FOX’s presentation and how it’s damaging to the sport. The main point was that they didn’t treat it seriously enough.. he mentioned the grid walk takes away from the intensity of pre-race, Boogity boogity boogity making NASCAR and their fans look like a group of backwoods inbreds, etc..

:waver:

They whine about the lack of youngsters, and are insulted because they think all the programming should be for them. sheesh.

Larry doesnt care if you do either. Good luck on that GoFund me page
I think you misunderstood. I personally wouldn’t contribute a dime to cure what the mute button does for free.
I’ve watched one race in the past two years. The product is stale. I think people like Larry and goofy crash videos like this one aren’t helping the sport. I actually didn’t watch the video; I saw Larry and opted out.

People want personality and emotion from drivers, not geriatrics in the broadcast booth.

Do you think people actually channel surf? Every cable company provides the digital guide. People are not tuning in and hearing DW and then opting out. If you are tuning into NASCAR it is because you are interested to see it and if you happen to tune in right when DW blows his wad you immediately have cars racing on your TV. I would imagine you would get over it.

People hate Joe Buck, but every year he is on the Fox game of the week in the NFL and every year he does the World Series......and every year people tune in. It is not the broadcasters or the coverage. It is, has been and always will be the product. It just isn't popular amongst the masses the way other sports are. Kids cannot walk outside and just do it like they can most other sports.

It isn't that hard to understand why the popularity is waning.

To each their own. I mean maybe it does need an overhaul but I like some of the people Fox has.
If they’d hire the MRN guys, many people would un-mute the race broadcast. The Fox booth guys promote the NASCAR bull crap. I don’t want to hear a corporate mouthpiece while I’m watching racecars.
