I’ve moved beyond the “annoying” feelings.I wouldn't say I hate him, but I do find him annoying.

I mean I could do without that part but I mean I find them entertaining when not doing that. I get it can be annoying. But whoever is up there would do the same crap.If they’d hire the MRN guys, many people would un-mute the race broadcast. The Fox booth guys promote the NASCAR bull crap. I don’t want to hear a corporate mouthpiece while I’m watching racecars.
This. He's good on the broadcasts when they let him do his serious stuff. The guy knows his stuff, it's just the way they have him present it.
Have you listened to a radio broadcast recently? There are sponsor plugs all over the place. They take breaks to interview the president of a track they go to in 3 months. Also calling a race on the radio doesn't translate to tv.If they’d hire the MRN guys, many people would un-mute the race broadcast. The Fox booth guys promote the NASCAR bull crap. The problem is they are choking on the corporate broadcast wad. You may believe that what you’re seeing in front of their mouths is a microphone but I digress.This. He's good on the broadcasts when they let him do his serious stuff.
This is more up DW's alley. He's a caricature at this point anyways.
Gotta try to retain some of that big Talladega fan base anyhow.
Maybe this gets a bunch of 10 year-olds to watch a few laps, wait for a wreck, and turn off after five laps without carnage. They whine about the lack of youngsters, and are insulted because they think all the programming should be for them. sheesh.
I love Larry, Mike Joy, and Jeff Gordon. The guy knows his stuff, it's just the way they have him present it.

Age never stopped John Madden. Vin Scully either. DW, on the other hand, is so rooted in his 'folksy' presentation (and Mikey in his buffoon role) that it's become a gimmick. That has nothing to do with age.People want personality and emotion from drivers, not geriatrics in the broadcast booth.
Yeah, the problem with this piece ain't Larry. This is a bad idea regardless of who got stuck hyping it.The guy knows his stuff, it's just the way they have him present it.
