Mansfield replaces Music city motorplex event

Have you ever checked out a CASCAR/Canadian Tire Series race? Oval or road coarse they never fail to put on an excellent race, i'd highly reccomend it. The tracks they go to are really high quality places, I've been to 5 of their tracks and the other 4 are actually nicer than Cayuga(not that Cayuga is bad). I've never been outside the US and Ontario/Quebec, hoping to check out some more provinces this year though.

Naw, just highlights on YouTube, which are just excerpts from TSN broadcasts usually. They seem to do a pretty good job on the broadcasts. Anyways, the reason for the bump is that Cayuga's front page has changed for the first time in about 2 months, and they're threatening a redesigned website and online ticket sales. Probably like the day before the ARCA race. :whoopee:

Probably.

BTW, you've hit 15 posts now. :whoopee:

Is the Canadian Tire Series on part with the Camping World East/West series?

Yes it is Spike
NASCAR bought CASCAR a couple or 3 years ago, It's now called the " Canadian Tire Series.

But I have watched a lot of CASCAR races, SPEED used to play them over the off season (before NASCAR bought them) and I agree they put on a great show and they're oval tracks are all short tracks.

I noticed that they changed their site too, its good to at least see some kind of update from them. They removed the very long list of series, many of which werent going to be going there anyway.

Yeah NASCAR considers to be the same level, but the cars in that series look very different from the Camping World series cars. They still use the old CASCARs.

Yup, they do. I remember seeing this article a few months ago, and it's still in the archives. The NCATS champion gets a slot in the All-Star shootout at Irwindale. Article also talks about him having to get a Camping world ride.

I still think Cayuga isn't happening this year. Unfortunately I had a contact there last year but he isn't with Cayuga anymore. I think Delaware would be a great replacement, it isn't too far from the Michigan border. So it isn't too far from ARCA HQ. They have been doing a lot of improvements at that track for the Canadian Tire Series race this year. ARCA also has a relationship with that track, the trucks ran there recently.

I doubt Cayuga will be on next year's schedule. I think Langley or North Wilkesboro will pop up instead.

I really doubt it will be on this years schedule either. If it is cancelled I hope they at least replace it like they did with Nashville. It pissed me off the CW East didn't replace Nashville.

It would be tough to run that race elsewhere.

Yeah it woul. Especially with how soon the Cayuga race is coming up. Even if they ran in the US it would be better than just losing one more race.
I wish I could go to Pocono. I'm still hoping to get to New Jersey and Rockingham, but it's getting doubtful.

That is too bad, hopefully you can at least get to a couple of them. I went to one of the Pocono weekends last year and both weekends in 2006. It is always a fun time, although with with way the stands are its really difficult to see the front straightaway. The ARCA race is usually much better than the Cup race there. I've seen some great action in ARCA there. The cup race just goes on too long, and caution periods are brutally long there.

In this economy, I can't keep it up. The saving grace has been gas prices, but that's already close to $3/gal. and headed to $4/gal. long before experts thought that would happen.

The economy needs to recover so I can get some more money from newspapers and from sponsors.

We must have the same contact! Then again, a lot of people probably aren't there anymore.

This is not looking good, is it? Even if ARCA runs the race and sells tickets themselves, attendance is going to be very poor at this point. If moved to Delaware, I won't go; it's twice as far for me, and I already have hotel reservations near Cayuga. Which I would honor and just take a little weekend get-away anyways.

I'll ask ARCA, but I doubt I'll get any kind of response.

Does ARCA keep up on whats going on with the tracks? Or do they just assume since they have a deal that all is well? Even if they are talking to Cayuga the track could just be BSing. How many promises of releasing schedules and selling tickets by a certain date have they put on their site now? Probably too many to count by now.

Who the hell knows. Try thinking like them: Go drink a 44 oz. margarita and follow it up with a few shots of moonshine.

Well, in addition to ARCA, OSCARR, The ISMA and SST Modifieds (A Western NY based series) all still have Cayuga listed on their schedules on their websites. SST says it's during Crown Jewel 250 weekend, and we know that race ain't happening. And, don't forget in addition to all the schedule and ticket sales promises on the Cayuga website, that "Free Camping" suddenly one day became "$25 Camping". :D

Well AML, let me know if ARCA says anything.

ARCA really hasn't had very good luck with their schedule this year. Nashville and Cayuga

I will not be surprised to see ARCA with a 20 race schedule next year.
