Media Center Meltdown

And you knew what you were signing up for as well.

You signed up to interview a bunch of type A personalities that give one hundred percent and get mad when things don't go their way. People who have raced since they were five years old and have been pushed hard since they were infants. These people have more passion for their job then most of us could ever understand.

I am one of the older fans that have loved racing all of my life. I also remember waiting on the paper to come on Thursday after the race to see the standings. I have also worked as a medic at short tracks for the past thirty years and have patched up several drivers who got an azz whipping and deserved it.

We don't understand what's going on inside the car, that's why we ask them and the drivers tell us we're asking "stupid questions" and tell us how to do our job. "Ask original questions".

Transcripts are notes...

Don't be silly. They were printed transcripts provided to her at the media center. Get up and get another copy.

Her notes are her work product, the transcript isn't. BIG difference.

Why can't you reporters get anything straight? ;)

Why do you keep putting yourself in their shoes? When was the last time you were in the media center after a cup race?

For fans of Race hub, Spencer tweeted the return of the straight jacket award. 1 + 1 = funny sheet.

Spencer cracks me up.

Oh, I don't have the right to an opinion because I don't cover Cup?

Just because someone doesn't cover Cup doesn't mean they don't do anything. Ever heard of a series called IZOD IndyCar Series, or the ARCA Racing Series? Ever heard of a place called The White House? I've covered events in all three. Ever heard of the Governor of Maryland? I've interviewed him. Ever heard of House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer? I've interviewed him.

But you're right, I have no room to talk :sarcasm:

I saw that! Why did Steny rip up your lunch menu? ;)

I'm thinking Andy is more of a journalist that most of us, and a few of the hacks who cover nascar. Jenna is pretty sloppy in formulating her questions sometimes, and even got Tony pissed because he misunderstood (according to Jenna) her intentions.

Here's the facts.

Accurate quote: http://tinyurl.com/63fxdw6

“When he came back to us, you know, you could see it coming. That’s not something you see from Jimmie Johnson every day so I know WE'RE in his head.” [a referance back to Kurts odd assertion that JJ is jealous of Penske equiptment].

This is exactly what the picture Jenna tweeted of her torn transcript showed.

Jenna says to JJ '...Kurt said HE'S in your head' while talking after tonights race.

Kurt said he didn't say that tonight.

Jenna reads the transcript correctly this time. "...WE'RE in his head".

Kurt says "Absolutely....OK".

It's NOT a small distinction.

Why the hell didn't Jenna understand that SHE got it wrong, even though SHE proved herself wrong? Why try to show Kurt the transcript, as if it will show something different?

I like Jenna, but she can be real spacey. It took ten tweets back and forth the other night just to get her to understand...
1) I was asking about her Menzer tweet and not her run in with Kurt.
2) I wasn't mad at HER.
3) I didn't think Kurt was right.
4) I wasn't mad at HER (again).
5) I didn't bring up the Kurt incident, she did.
6) Finally got an answer to my question.

It sounds like you have made it through the training program. But now you have to do a cup race if your going to be the big DAWG.:)

I like what I'm doing now. I love my jobs with TBN, Race22 and SRM. I'm happy where I'm at.

When the Cup Series returns to Rockingham, I'll be there to cover it.

I was just kidding with you, and it sounds like you are having a great time.:)

I love my job, even though it can be stressful at times.
In this day and age if you love what you do then you are one up on a lot of people, and need to stick with it, because there are a lot of people that hate what they have to do every day. Best of luck in your career.:)

I got tired of reading back through the endless Andy love posts to see if anyone had posted that..... Kurt Busch pulled his foot out of his mouth long enough to apologize to the reporters on the receiving end of his temper tantrums over the weekend.

Yeah, I read that.

Pure Penske damage control...as any of the owners would do.

I'm not a Busch fan but he sure can get not only the fans fired up, but other drivers as well and I'm all for that.

Who gives a ****? I watched the video, it was pretty funny actually. She put the piece of paper out to be a snot to try to prove she was right and Kurt just took it and ripped. It's not like he punched her in the face.
