Montoya expected to be announced as third Penske driver in Brickyard 400

I always felt that JPM should have done better in Cup than he did. It will be interesting to see if a new team chemistry and car will make a difference. Although his old team and car are doing pretty good this year.

May end up being like Logano. Didn't do much at Gibbs but he's a threat at Penske.

You people are talking like you miss him like he didn't cost teams millions of dollars in his NASCAR stint. :idunno:

You're the exception. You are me and I am you, remember? Let's not confuse people here..

Oh double post from my alias. My b

It will be interesting to see how he does in a Penske Ford compared to the old Ganassi stuff.

One would think you aren't to fond of JPM.

Yeah, considering he didn't have a single incident with Gordon (I think) I shouldn't have much of an issue with him. But yet, here I am.

Juan More Problem Montoya shouldn't just be handed a free ride, he's already proved that his skill's in NASCAR were barely above Damnica's.

So who will finish better?
Montoya or Danica. I know you said barely above but they should be close then.
It'll be interesting to see him in Penske equipment.

Juan is an F1 legend? :rolleyes:o_O

Right at the end of that clip, there was another one..

Well it's a British show and he drove for the two renowned British teams so there might be some bias there...but he did finish 3rd in the championship twice, at a time when Ferrari were unbeatable. Winning Monaco gets you instant credibility too.

I think Juan just got lazy and didnt give a crap, the dude can drive, hell he won Monaco and Indy. Nascar pays good money for no performance

He also outperformed his equipment on many occasions. He was never consistent but he's a wheel man. Remember if not for bad luck he would've had about 7 wins in cup. And don't be fooled by ganassi's improvement this year, when Kyle Larson moved up he greatly improved his cup operation. Jamie macs a good driver too and he's struggled the past several years telling me it's the equipment.

^this. This a problem with about half the field in nascar. A lot of these guys are content to just ride around and collect a paycheck because there is little driver development

Yep, how many years did Burton collect millions for doing nothing
