My All-Star Race adventure.

Sitting between 1 and 2. We snuck onto the track, then onto pit road. Boone checks for credentials when you have a kid e with you.:D

Yea cause all they showing on tv is COMMERCIALS.

What do you mean???!

We saw EIGHT LAPS of green-flag racing before the first commercial break!
They only missed SIX LAPS of green-flag racing while away.
And then we saw SIX LAPS of green-flag racing prior to the checkered flag!

:sarcasm: Just in case you couldn't tell...

WTH no in race updates from our at race reporter???????????

Yeah. they screwed up raceview again. Its been screwed up since the race started. They have an advisory posted that its broke and working on it. We actually pay for that.

Looks like Marty Smith was asking your son if he wanted to come back to his place for some ice cream. *chills*

I thought that the CUP cars looked great on the track tonite! They were flat flying out there.

And I also must compliment SPEED on their coverage. We were treated to EVERY green-flag lap on TV!!

WTG, SPEED!!!

The cars were flying through the corners and it was incredible to watch them the first lap or two after the restart. But the aero push. Ugh.

1629.4 miles driven since we left on Thurs AM. Awesome time overall. Great memories.

And North Carolinians are horrible drivers.

Glad you had a good time , by the pics so did your boy. They are horrible drivers over there too. When I went to the Hall of Fame I wanted to give a lot of them the old bump and run.

That's because so many of them are transplants that brought their rude, crude and terrible habits with them.

It wasn't like this 30 years ago,

It's as if someone removed cruise control from their vehicles. And the concept of the left lane being used for passing seems an entirely unknown concept.

But the city of Charlotte (downtown) is awesome. Very clean, visually appealing and easy to navigate.

Glad you enjoyed the trip, by the way, the restaurant you posted pictures of, its literally down the street from my house. We've been debating on trying that place, based on your pics alone, we are going.

It's pricey but it's incredibly good. They use local ingredients daily as well. And absolutely get desert. Also the service is beyond excellent.

If anyone comes to the Hall of Fame and doesn't know where to stop to eat during their time downtown, then stop at Merts Soul Food on College St.
They are beside the Holiday Inn. Good country style food at a reasonable price and the folks there are friendly.

I ate there the other afternoon (not the first time either) when I was working the Pit Crew Challenge at the arena for two days.

Any time I get to the downtown area, I stop at Merts for lunch if time permits.

Wish they had one at CMS this weekend when I was working there. Hated the ****** and overpriced food there.

One thing I noticed at the track this weekend is how few fans use scanners. At MIS and Chicagoland most of the fans use them. Strange.

We stopped and had dinner at Mac's Speed Shop on South blvd. Great food, atmosphere and an extremely talented wait staff.:D

That is exactly the case in California!

Great place to eat, one of our favorites when we go downtown.

Holy drunken mess of classless fans at Charlotte. Someone threw a cooler at the 48. One guy wanted to fight all JJ fans. Terrible security.

But me and the boy had a blast even though these Cup cars suck balls at this track.

Same thing at MIS. Drunk squads abound, but no police.

My days of going to races without my kid are probably over. He'd be pissed beyond pissed. Haha

You make him start doing chores at 6AM and keep him going until he passes out. Then, you put him in his bed and sneek off to the track.

This technique also works with obedient wives.

My kid is a trooper. He operates on less sleep than any kid I know! He'd never let it fly. Lol

And what us this "obedient wives" thing you speak of? I only know of mouthy wives that bitch about having to walk a lot while at the track.

LOL....my wife never complains about a lot of walking at the track, as long as she has a nice lunch and gets a scanner she is good to go!
