My All-Star Race adventure.

Mine likes gonig to the track more than I do I think. But she wants to stay the whole week. I just want to go for two days. Sleep in the truck. Make it easy. Till I get an RV some day that is.

My wife isn't a race fan but she went to Charlotte because she wanted to spend time with the fam. But wow, she added a lot of expense and wasted time to the trip. My next trip with her will not be racing related. And I doubt she'll want to do any more NASCAR trips.

lol I'm thinking she doesn't read your posts...............or does she?

So, you think my family is a waste if time! What about your family?
The fun continues long into the night.

Now that's roughing it. Is there anything better than watching a race next to a sweaty, stinky guy who slept in his truck? ;)

Get the RV and you'll want to be there for the whole week too. ;)

Yeah we had a couple of "dust ups" here and there regarding certain things. Mostly her bitching about walking then getting mad at me for reminding her that it wasn't that bad and that maybe she should have listened to me when I suggested to her for the past 4 weeks to get off her ass and go for 3-4 walks per week so she'd be used to it.

Not big on tact ,are we ?

If you honestly told your wife that, sleep with one eye open for the next fifty years because women don't forget a thing.

You have been home three days and you are already having racing DT's. ;)

LOL It's true!
MIS weekend is coming up June 15-17 so I think I'll make it. Barely.:D

I will admit that I did spend some time today looking at taking a trip to the Brickyard 400. I'm not a big fan of the racing there but it's such an historic venue. Also, it's only a 4 hour drive.

Also, I may go to the World of Outlaws race at I-96 Speedway on June 2nd. Those races look fun.

Oh boy, I was just joking around. I'm sorry to hear all that.

I got my fix this past weekend and I am good to go until MIS. I agree with you on the Brickyard, neat place to visit but a horrible place to watch a race. Have you been to Berlin?

Any news on the job front since you're back?

I have updated my resume and sent it out to a couple of places. I'll buckle down on it tomorrow and the next day.

No worries. I've been with her for 18 years. She's well aware of what an arse I am. :D

Reminds me of a joke...

Wife is telling hubby about her yearly checkup. "The dr said my cholesterol is good, and I'm very healthy".

Hub. "Did he say anything about your big ass?"

Wife "No, he never mentioned you"

She knew it was time to shut it down.

I thought that it was very wise of you not to post any pics of her sleeping in the car during your trip. You have obviously picked up a little knowledge in eighteen years .

My wife hates racing, I am thinking of going to Daytona in July next year, I am not sure if she will tag along or it will be a solo trip. She says "is the whole thing gonna revolve around racing"

Sorry for you guys who have wives that don't like racing. Mine is crazy about it, especially the local scene, but it was the big leagues that brought us together.

Mine can at least tolerate it, she will buy me merchandise and lets me display die-casts, she will go upstairs to the bedroom TV if she knows it is on.

My wife got me an autographed #11 cap from Bill Elliott AND a signed print of a Garry Hall's "Million Dollar Bill" that is also signed by Elliott. But like I said, she probably loves the local scene the best of all. Her car has a Tim Brown tag on the front. Those who watched the Madhouse on TV will know what Tim is. As for myself, my NC tag has a NASCAR theme.

I have met many a men, whose wifes discourage them from even watching, lets watch a lifetime movie instead :D I know somewhat who Tim Brown is.

Mine was totally and I mean totally hooked after the first time I took her to a live cup race. She adopted Jeff Gordon as her driver after the famous all star race where the rain crashed a lot of cars out on the first lap and he went on to come from the back and win in a back up car. I now have to take her to at least 6 races a year. Poor Poor me. Best chair back, arm rest, cupholder, chairs in the place along with garage passes and whatever I want for having to take her to a dirty old race track. Yech. He says while grinning like a damn fool.:D

Tell her about the HUGE flea market. You can drink beers, get your teeth whitened and get a cell phone all in one place. And the shopping is great too. If you like airsoft rifles, nascar hats, knifes, and bongs that is!

Mine just gets bored watching it. And while she has certain drivers she likes and some she doesn't like, she just isn't all that into it. Most fans have that one driver that they really pull for which, to me, is vital in developing a real passion for NASCAR. When I started to discuss next year's trip she said "Oh great. Another trip revolving around frickin' NASCAR." When I asked her what sort of family trip she'd enjoy she mentioned Washington DC. Hmmm...<I grabbed my phone, checked Google Maps> "You know...DC is only a couple of hours drive from Dover...":D

My wife isn't NEARLY as big of a fan as I am...but I am pretty hardcore! lol She doesn't watch every single lap when it is on, but she is usually in and out checking on it and doing other stuff and so on....she enjoys going to the races a lot more than watching on tv, but then again, who don't.

As a matter of fact the first race I ever went to was thanks to my wife. Her first Christmas present to me when we were dating was Martinsville tickets....at this point I knew she was the one! :)

Richmond too! Only 108 miles south and all interstate. Take in D.C. by day and then the night race. Don't get me wrong, Dover's good too. They are both more or less equal distance but Richmond is a better race IMO.

When I go to Richmond it will be a "no wife zone".

Dover seems like a cool track, though. I'd lIke to check it out at some point.
