NASCAR and lodging issues.

I want one of those pop-up trailers anyway. I have always wanted one, just a nice used one. Something like this but not necessarily this nice.

Homestead is a pretty good deal. We go to the Un-reserved lot which is fine because we get there early. We stay Wednesday to Monday.

Non-Reserved RV Space Purchase ($200) includes:
  • One (1) RV space (20'x50')
  • One (1) parking space for tow vehicle
  • Tram service (within RV Lot)
  • Convenience store
  • Potable water station
  • Dump station
  • 24-hour security
  • Dog park

Is that typical of other tracks too?? Because that is nuts!
No, not at all. Typical, that is.

Keep in mind, they do have free camping there too so it's all what you want. If you want to camp in the infield you'll pay the big bucks there. If you just want to camp 'out in the field', you can do it on the cheap. You'd find me out in that field somewhere. :D

Our first RV was a Coleman Westlake model. Very similar to the model pictured. It even had a shower in it. Rarity for a popup. Used it for 6 years or so and then upgraded. We've upgraded a couple more times since then also. Even so, I still wish I had that popup. It was sweet.

Search homemade or diy campers. If you can get a small trailer, you could have a camper for just a couple hunnerd bucks!
Ps- a friend is selling daytona tickets cheap if you're interested!

Listening to SiriusXM Nascar Radio today and they were discussing hotels around tracks (primarily Bristol) that raise their rates significantly during race weekends. Growing up in a resort ski area town I've seen this stuff go on first hand. Now I understand that these piddly little towns rely on these race weekends as their yearly income, but $300+ a night for a crappy hotel room to go to a race is the reason why families cant afford to travel to them anymore. Now I realize that NASCAR cant do anything about what these hotels charge, so here's my suggestion. Why doesnt NASCAR build its own hotels? Thoughts?

Brian would partition off the females to one dorm and the males to the other one.
Cause he dont like that kind of stuff.

If I ever come into any money, I'm going to pay off my schooling and buy myself a small camper. See, I don't even have the money yet and it's already spent.
