NASCAR and RTA are "far apart" on future revenue split

Teams gained further clarity on the proposed financial split from Steve Phelps last week and as many as half of the them are reportedly prepared to accept the deal, which still won’t be finalized until TV rights are locked up.

Jim France supposedly still needs to be convinced on making charters permanent but generally some degree of progress has been made.

Top teams currently make $8-10M per entry per year from the charter agreement and are asking to make that the baseline for the lower-tier teams (currently around $4-5M), with the bigger teams wanting higher into eight figures annually.
