NASCAR forces Ryan Ellis to remove "Keep Back" decal

Looks like a text book case of bullying to me. I have no issue with NASCAR's decision.

come on Ellis is just having a little fun. it wasn't done in a mean spirited way.

He was having fun at someone else's expense though. If he hadn't put the kid's name on it then it would have been a little better.

Honestly, if I was the person that wrecked him, I would have laughed seeing this but just me.

Yeah I probably would too, but it's still not acceptable IMO. Even if its "all in good fun" it's still bullying. It would be a little different if it was an established guy like Gordon putting something on his bumper like "Hey, back off Bowyer". This kids career could be over before it started because of this incident, so I'm not sure if this Jake Crum kid would see it as "all in good fun".

He had some expense in it too.Paying to fix the 1st truck that Crum wrecked of his.

if allowed, it could start a mess, right decision by Nascar

Personally I dont see the harm....

...but if Brian is against it then I am too "lean not upon thine own understanding, trust in Brian with all thine heart and he shall direct thou paths".

I think Nascar needs to smite Yahoo too for providing a link, the disgraceful image needs to be purged.

Sending messages to other drivers in that manner is juvenile at best.

No kidding, go talk about like men. Don't slap on a silly sticker making fun of the kid. He screwed up, I'm sure the racing world is already aware of it and don't need to be reminded of it.

Yeah Ellis needs some "sensitivity training".

My question is why is the FDNY wasting money on sponsoring a racecar instead of using that money to hire more firefighters or buying them better/newer equipment?

Its all good if Harvick goes around choking people though

Folks need to call the anti bullying league, and report the ungentlemenship of Ellis. What we need is more vanilla in racing, it is high time for the drivers to become gentlemen, proper, and classy sweetie pies, so very exciting.

Nascar fan council members please report Mr Ellis and please recommend strong demerits.

I'm thinking they should start wearing panty shields. So they don't stain their undergarments while they be racing?

Apparently the news has hit Bombay.

The U.N. has just written a fierce condemnation to the mean spiteful Mr Ellis.
They also have applauded Nascars bold leadership regarding this most unfortunate event.

Hopefully Mr Ellis learned something and will strive to pursue some positive humanitarian endeavors, and people will forgive him in time.
I sure would hate for him to persist in being a meanie, and force the UN write him a 2nd devastating letter.

For me it's not about bullying and being PC...it's childish and has no place in racing.

You know as I union rep at my workplace I deal with this kind of crap all the time.
What Ellis did was bullying,.... period.
Having people laugh and tell Crum to harden up and be a man doesn't help at all. Enablers piss me off as much as the bully them selves.

I am just having fun with the topic. I just thought Nascar was going to let the drivers handle these issues, and try to avoid a heavy hand.

I dont know if this is bullying, without knowing their personal interactions, Crum may see it as a joke and laugh it off.
If Crum lets it bother him he may be in the wrong buisness.

All good Greg, I'm just saying Crum shouldn't have to be bothered by it in the first place. Nascar agrees for good reasons

I think this is the part that everybody may be missing. Immediately after the event, both Ellis and Crum took to twitter and settled the issue, even making jokes about it themselves. It's not as if there is bad blood there, this comes off as being playful and a chance for TV time more than anything else.

If Nascar didn't put a stop to it, it wouldn't have ended there. Next thing we'd see are drivers running around the track with messages saying that some other driver is an a**hole or some certain driver cheated to get into the chase or 'hey _____________, pull over like you usually do.'

Settle it on the track and move on, keeping in mind that no driver has never made a mistake.

Stupid. Truck was a representation of a piece of NYFD equipment. Each piece of fire apparatus I have ever seen has "Keep back 500 feet" on the rear.
Admittedly putting the guys name was over the top but lighten up Francis.

The gravity of the situation has given me cause to do a lot of soul searching.

I now realize that the Rowdy Busch sticker needs to go away too.
Rowdy is definitely a bully, and principled people need to courageously stand against such foolishness.
Rowdy also misrepresents men in skirts etc... and Scottish people, it is worse than the Washington Redskins.
