NASCAR forces Ryan Ellis to remove "Keep Back" decal

If Nascar didn't put a stop to it, it wouldn't have ended there. Next thing we'd see are drivers running around the track with messages saying that some other driver is an a**hole or some certain driver cheated to get into the chase or 'hey _____________, pull over like you usually do.'

Settle it on the track and move on, keeping in mind that no driver has never made a mistake.

I seriously doubt it would come to that, but if it did why would that be a problem?

The sport is already too PC. If things like that create some rivalry on the track it's a good thing imo.

Those who are calling this bullying need to jump off the boat. Thats awfully soft. Bullying is part of life people. you deal with it in many different aspects and it will not go away. We naturally look to take advantage of people. That will never change and in its slightest form should be considered bullying by those who are on that campaign.

All of this being said Nascar made the right decision. They are a huge corporate business who has a ton to lose and in the pc world we live in they have a lot at risk. Not only that its just stupid. Its not creative. Last time I checked neither guy is relavent. Before you go and start exposing other drivers you better make sure you have done something yourself.

Its a bit hypocritical on Nascars side though because we can have Brad Keselowski call Kyle Busch an ass in intros and nothing happens. At the end of the day, nobody cares

Political Correctness comes in many different forms, as is evident on social media sites and forums such as this one which have a like button but no dislike option.

Can you imagine if someone posted a picture of their kid on Facebook and I typed dislike? Many don't want anything to do with PC - until something offends them.

Yeah I probably would too, but it's still not acceptable IMO. Even if its "all in good fun" it's still bullying. It would be a little different if it was an established guy like Gordon putting something on his bumper like "Hey, back off Bowyer". This kids career could be over before it started because of this incident, so I'm not sure if this Jake Crum kid would see it as "all in good fun".

Well Mr Crum should have thought about that before he did something stupid like putting another driver's life in danger.

It's just dumb. You've got all these rich white boys moving up the NASCAR ranks with absolutely no personality that NASCAR promotes. Then, when you get two real racers with real personalities, NASCAR wants to neuter them. No wonder the ratings are down double digits.

Bubba Wallace didnt earn a nationwide ride or anything.

Kyle Larson is a pale faced peckerwood :sarcasm:

The gravity of the situation has given me cause to do a lot of soul searching.

I now realize that the Rowdy Busch sticker needs to go away too.
Rowdy is definitely a bully, and principled people need to courageously stand against such foolishness.
Rowdy also misrepresents men in skirts etc... and Scottish people, it is worse than the Washington Redskins.View attachment 14107 View attachment 14108

Those two are the exception, not the rule. There's a lot of talent out there that goes "undiscovered" because they don't pay Lorin Ranier or Turner Scott Motorsports a ton of money to "notice" them.

Somebody better inform all fire departments in their area that they are being bullies too.

A firetruck on it's way to a fire is hardly the same as a Nascar race truck on a race track

hell if the guy wouldn't have wrecked him he'd not have to stay back 500 feet ;)
Yep
Maybe NASCAR should get to the root of the problem & kick Crum out of the truck before he makes other drivers put funny decals on their tailgate?

:XXROFL:

I got a chuckle out of the decal but I can understand why NASCAR made the call that they made. I don't see Ellis as a bully, nor do I see this as some grand attempt by NASCAR to keep everything vanilla and PC and squash a rivalry. The decal was just a little over the top and unnecessary. No biggie.

Like @#17D500winner pointed out, we don't need these guys writing each other messages on their cars/trucks. Like, who even cares, you know? You got something to say to somebody? Just say it to them.

No but if I'm driving behind it it's telling me to stay back.So I should be offended. If we go by your reasoning.
That's not my reasoning. I said it was juvenile and has no place in racing.

We stay back from a firetruck for safety reasons and I've never once been offended by a message on an emergency vehicle.

I heard he had another sign made up in case Bubba Wallace hit him.
It said all Blacks stay back 200 feet.........boy we could have a chuckle over that one.

Or is it insensitive to target a group of people but OK to target an individual.

Gotcha ;)

Yes. A group of people have done nothing. Crum started it. Reap the consequences.

It was insensitive of Crum to crash into Ellis on the back straight.

And you go to College?
God help us :D
Yes it is a trivial matter really but the thread is about Nascar telling Ellis to remove the sign.
I am trying to explain why Nascar had to do it.

I understand why. I dont agree with it.

Thats the best beauty of college. Learning how to think, rather than being told what to think.

because Brad K would go overboard if they allowed crap like that. nip it in the bud before it gets started. Nascar got this right.

That's what we all said when our ears were still moist.
Welcome to adulthood. Pay attention. WAY more to learn once you get out of pre-life school.
Theres alot of moist things in college but it certainly aint my ears :D

This is why I addressed "Rowdy" and the offense and insult it must be to to the "Peoples Republic of Scotland".
